Getting my delta overlocker fy14u to stitch, cant get a chain started

Most often, the problem either has to do with mis-threading or the machine has been knocked out of time. (It took me an entire day to thread my serger correctly the first time.) Start out with no thread in the machine. Follow the instructions "exactly." ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading and be sure EACH thread is threaded in the correct order! Another helpful hint is to give each thread an extra little tug when going from the thread tree to the thread dial. This helps the thread seat completely in the tension disk.

I have a older Janome Machine Model685/687 cant remember how to thread it

Unable to locate anything for your particular model, but something here may be helpful. Remember, machines from the same era tend to thread and operate similarly. Be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top thread!

How to thread a Empisal overlocker.. model 760C

Perhaps the manual would help:

Empisal Overlocker 760C Empisal Sewing Machines

On most machines, it is important to ALWAYS raise the presser foot when threading the machine (although the instruction manual says to raise the presser foot only to pull the thread tail under it). Be sure to give the thread an extra little tug when going through the tension disk to seat it properly. Be sure to thread in the order as specified (Upper looper, Lower looper, Right needle, Left Needle). If the machine messes up, it is usually a best policy to remove all the thread and rethread from the beginning. Threading out of order will almost guarantee failure!!!

I cant feed the overlocker.. so it dont want to work

Best to refer to the owner's manual. You can search the internet for the Make + Model + the word "Manual" and you may find a free download.

ALWAYS raise the presser foot while threading the machine.

Be sure to thread each in the order specified in the manual (usually, Upper Looper, Lower Looper, then the needles). Threading in the incorrect order will guarantee failure!

If a thread breaks or the machine messes up, it's usually best to remove All the threads and rethread from the beginning.

To start out, it helps to use a combination of different color threads.

Set the tensions to the midway point (the standard for basic overlocking).

I cant figure out the bobbin part getting thread to come up to the needle please help or how to do the whole bobbin thing

Depending on the brand of machine, you insert your bobbin into the bobbin holder, thread the top part of your machine, including the needle, then turn the wheel on the side of the machine by hand and it will catch the thread that is in the bobbin and it will pull it up through the bobbin hole. Once it is pulled up through the hole, near your needle, you will pull the thread towards the back of the machine and leave it. Then start sewing.

Cant get my tension right on my brother sewing machine vx 877 can you help me

Thread the machine with the presser foot up and then adjust the tension to the setting you need - general purpose sewing thread is around 4.

Threading with the foot raised is important as this opens the tension control and allows the thread to properly seat into the mechanism.

When a sewing machine is threaded with the foot down, the tension is closed and the thread cannot enter as intended and the tension control has nothing to control.

If this does not help, the machine may need the the spring in the tension control replaced. You will have to search for parts on the Internet or check with a Brother dealer.
