The short answer is something is pulling too much amperage thru the circuit.
You would need to find out what is in that circuit then check for shorts to ground.

SOURCE: xenon lights blown fuse

You could have a problem with the xenon light itself on the passenger side or the wiring running to the light assembly. You could unplug the connector from the light assembly and replace the fuse if it still blows the fuse, its in the wiring harness if it doesn't it problably is in the light assembly. I'm not sure how the lights are configured on the Z if the zenon lamp is replaceable by itself, you can try swapping it out. I haven't had any problems with my Z but those are a few suggestions on troubleshooting your problem.

SOURCE: 2002 Acura MDX door lock fuse blows

It sounds like the circuit has a short in it somewhere. You can check for grounding with the same tester your used to measure the amp draw. Connect the tester and put it on continuity, this should sound an alarm when a closed circuit is detected. Move the harness around to see if it goes off.

SOURCE: Fog lights keeps blowing fuses

Obviously a short somewhere. Check sockets for corrosion, rust etc where current could be traveling across, as well as take a look at wiring into rear if you can get to it. One other thing you could try to isolate, would be to try one bulb in at a time, perhaps one will cause fuse to blow & other won't, which will give you a reference point to start looking.

SOURCE: has recently blown inline 15 amp starter motor

Hi
DO NOT put a bigger fuse in ,you need to find out why the fuse blew in the first place,it is unlikely to be the starter motor,it could be a bad connection, the mercedes all have problems with the ignition switch assembly this is more likely.

1997 nissan maxima fuse box diagram

The fuses are color coded and will have the amperage rating printed on them. Unless all the fuses have been removed than there should be no need to replace the fuses unless they are blown. Which will be obvious if they are blown. If all the fuses have been removed let me know and I'll see if I can find some diagrams of you.

Where's the fuse for the AC on 98 Olds 88?

So what does the fuse that blows, protect?

You need a wiring diagram & start to test
the components most likely to cause a high
current draw & blown fuse.

Don't keep replacing it.

You know the fan control circuit works, but the
compressor doesn't stay on. Did you monitor
the compressor as the fuse blew?

May have a module for compressor & fan
If so one side failed
The compressor clutch could be bad

How do you change the dashboard fuse on a 2001 Buick Century?

Locate the fuse compartment, it should be on the lower left side of the dash, pop the lid, there should be a fuse remover tool inserted on the lid, you'll see it once you take it off, the fuses are clearly labeled. Remove the blown fuse, make sure you replace it with same amp rating fuse.
Goos luck.

BRAKE LIGHTS DONT WORK BUT TURN SIGNALS DO

Got pulled over by a sheriff couple of nights ago for this one ..... like me, it seems your "headlight dimmer control switch" has gone bad. You most likely may have highbeams but no low beam, marker, or tail lights unless you step on the brakes. If you go the Pep boys route it'll cost roughly $80. .... at least thats the quote for my 95 Grand Am, which is why I'll be checking out the area junk yard. They sell 'em for $5 ...... hope that helps. Ron J.

If your dash lights are not working check your fuse block, see owners manual, it is most likely that the fuse has blown. If it's blown then you need to replace it. (Usual cost for the fuse is under $2.00) If the fuse blows again then the short must be traced down and repaired. Start by checking the bulb sockets(see owners manual) then look in other locations were the wire might come in contact with , Look for frayed wire insulation and wrap with electrical tape. If the fuse is okay your problem is harder to solve. I'm experiencing the same problem with a '88 Ford Crown Victoria. All components are working properly. There's powe to the fuse but none to the lights. I've been working on a solution for 3 days. Tomorrow I'll run a bypass from the headlights to the parking lamps, through a 15 AMP fuse of course, as a quick fix. If you follow the previous answer and use a 2nd hand switch be advised that you may have to remoce the entire dash to access the switch to remove and replace it. Good luck

Hooked up spare battery to the wrong terminals now have no power at all lights still work but no dash lights? what could it be is there a fuse that might have blown or something worse?

Under the hood is a fuse box. In this box is going to be a large fuse (between 60 and 100 amps usually) and it may be labeled 'main', 'alt', or 'batt'. This is the fuse that runs from the battery to the main power of the vehicle. When you hook a battery up like that it blows this main fuse. You'll need to replace that and any other fuses it blew out.

2004 F-150 Maxi fuse, where is it and what amps?

If you look in the fuse block under the hood you will find several of them. They will be different colors for different amperages and labeled with there amperage rating (40, 50, 60, etc). ind the one that is blown and replace it with the same color and amperage rating and you should be good to go.

If it blows again let me know what is not working and I'll try to help you further.

I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. A couple of months ago, just after starting the car one day, the 'check engine' and 'trac off' lights both came on. I immediately shut off the car, waited approximately 5...

Well it's temping to put in biggfer fuses as the problem gets worse but the size of the fuses are to keep you from burning things up so you've from your probem with a 30 amp smoke test. The raditor fan wire is melted somewhere in the wire harnes to the wire for the trck lock or even key on circirts. the likly place to look is inside the stering collum. It takes the skills of removing the steering whel and the lcok plate and even then thats does'nt have to be where the problem is. You need to look under the dash after you remove the covers and use you nose to smeel for the burnt wiring and open up any thing the smells like it's been hot and anything the appers melted together. once a harness is found melted you need to seragete all the wires in the loom but don't cut the wires justy seaparte them. once you think you've got then all pulled apart so no bear wires touch each other or any meal parts put in the correct size fuses and see if you can connect the battery with out a spark. if you can you may then start checking to see what works and what does'nt.. This all sounds like too much work or too hard to do then you'll need to pay someone theat knows alot about car wiring problems to do it for you. I'll been doing this kind of work for the last 20 years and a'm alawys finding new things that are fried and burnt up. We all charge by the hour to do this work so the most experieced mechanic that works on cars like yours will probly find and fix the problem the fastest. therefore they may charge more per hour but their likly to get it right quicker and it'll stay fixed after they fix it.. This is the most likly kind of work to go sour after it's fixed cause they might miss a circuit that you use and they did'nt try. and as soon as it burns again it's back to the drawing board and if big fuses are use the fire can take the whole car.
