I recently upgraded to a yamaha rx v663 receiver and there is apparently no place to input my marantz 6100 turntable. ios there anything i can do to correct this?
What you will need is a phono pre-amp, then you can run into the receiver with a line level input to an empty audio input on the receiver, you can try Radio Shack to obtain one.

If your turn table has a ground wire with the R and L wires then you can not connect it to this receiver. Unless you have a switch on the turn table that chooses between internal or external amp. If you have the switch, pick external amp and then run your R and L into your TV/CD input. Good luck to you.
once you set the audio program for an input, it should stay set even if you power the unit down. As far as locking that program so that it cannot be changed - no there isn't a way to do that.
Unfortunatly there is not any firmware to upgrade your unit to a higher HDMI format. There is a firmware though that corrects the following symptoms.
1. In case of playback of some DTS-HD Master Audio stream, pop noise may be generated. 2. Test tone may not be output under specific YPAO condition. 3. When test tone is output from presence channel, surround R channel is simultaneously output when speaker settings are PRESENCE SP "EXIST" and SWFR "NONE". 4. Multi channel input setting will be reset after power off the unit, in case of setting "INPUT CH" to "8CH" and "FRONT" to "VCR" or "V-AUX".
Long story short... No. Use your 663 for digital audio, Run video direct to TV for BLURAY & or Cable for 3d content. You can still switch all other video sources thru the receiver. Not cost effective. cost more to do it than you paid for it. Hope this helps
Hello,
It is unclear to me as to what you mean when you say they do not activate. Does that mean that they just don't play, or does it mean that your receiverdoesn't show them on the display? If your not hearing the sound from the speakers, are you sure your dvd movie is capable of outputting 7.1 or is it only 5.1?
If the receiver doesn't show the speakers on the display, try running through the speaker setup again to make sure you selected both sides and rears for the setup.
Good Luck
I had the same problem with RXV3900, was told by verizon and yamaha it's a software issue with the box. Verizon is suppose to be working on a new update, but no time frame for now. I'm using component to receiver, and hdmi to tv with no issues.
After further research, I learned that I need to plug the turntable into a preamp before plugging it into my newer receiver. As with cassettes, record players are fading away. I ordered a preamp, but won't be able to experience success until it arrives.
