It looks like the silver handle is pushed onto the black plastic insert, which must be removed from the handle, fixed to the door and then the handle reattached.

    ...just to clarify, looking at the manual the bit with the screw in has to be removed, then fixed to the door (use some epoxy resin glue or gripfill in the hole if the thread in the door is ruined and allow the screw to set in that before pushing the handle back on (complete with black plastic insert)

    Thanks. That's what I think to since every similar freezers mention that their handles slide out. But I can't figure out how to remove the black plastic piece ...

    Got the mechanic: there is a whole in the stainless steel part where you need to insert an Allen key to release the screw, insert it back in the whole and tighten with the Allen key. Thanks for your help!!

SOURCE: Have an Amana Side by side refrig/freezer (model

The handle covers can be slid off straight up for the top one and straight down for the bottom one you'll get some resistance but they will go.

Can i replace the door seal by myself on upright Amana freezer?

Hello.

Yes the door gasket is replacable. If the model number for your freezer is the one listed in your question (AFU2076AW) the part number for the door gasket is 4357120 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts tore or online at;

Freezer door does not seal on the bottom left side.

you can actually bend the door into shape if you can see that it is warped. If the freezer hing is on that corner then you can loosen the screw on that side and push the door into place and re-tighten the screws. You need a big screwdriver and a big person to get it done. you can test the repair with a dollar bill. Slip it in and close the door. It should take a little pull to pull it out. Go all around the door like that. anywhere it slides out easily you will have an air leak..

Freezer down won't stay shut model # ARB220ZCC

I called Amana and they would send me a part for $77 but they weren't sure it would solve the problem so I purchased a bungie cord for fifty cents that holds the door shut. It is a bit inconvenient but it workis for me!
I am thankful that Amana doesn't make autos!

Have an Amana Side by side refrig/freezer (model ACD2234HRS) that has a loose refrig door handle. How do you get access to tighten the door handle screws?

i believe there are plastic coverings that just pop off. they are located at the hinge,you will need to fully open the doors to get to them.

Freezer is getting to about o degrees but refrigerator section wont go below 50 this is amana side by side asb2623hrw also changed the defrost timer about a month ago and blew off the coils from underneath...

Check your lower air shutter that lets cold air move from the freezer to the refrigerator's. You may have something blocking the air flow, food, plastic, etc... There should be a dial that opens, and closes the door.
