TV turns on, then flashes "JVC Digital Television" splash screen, then goes blank. Cannot access the Menu with either remote or button on the side. Cannot do anything with remote except power on and off (and even power off is inconsistent). Have "reset" by unplugging for 4 hours. When re-plugged in, it showed menu briefly, then went blank again!

I have a JVC LCD TV LT-32P679 .. I turn on the tv.. and there is no picture displaying on the screen .. only sound..And because nothing is displayed on the screen.. I cant access to the menu to program the tv..
You most definately have bad capacitors in the power supply. try and get it repaired as soon as possible, not an expensive repair that iv'e seen.

Hi , I have the same problem with my LT-42X688,so i called the service of my extended warranty provider . the TV technician just left and told me the motherboard is the problem. he said its the third one this week he has seen with the same symptoms. he ordered the motherboard and i've got to wait 5 to 7 work days before the part will be in . I will keep you posted when the guy will return.

i have the LT 32P679, JVC, LCD tv. I turn it on and the picture is there for a second and then the screen goes black the audio is fine. I try and go to menue and that doesnt work either. The same thing happens if i try a different source as well ie: ipod or dvd. Any one got any ideas.

Same problem JVC-LT42478, JVC splash screen, then nothing works and you have to unplug it to power down. Local repair want's $570 to replace main board or something.
