  • First, check water level. Start machine, wait until the machine begins main wash. Open the door, the water level should be just below the heater element. If too low replace inlet valve.
  • If you can't hear the wash motor running or is just humming, the motor may be bad.
  • To check if the food chopper is blocked or broken;
  1. Remove lower spray arm by holding the arm and rotating the spray arm retainer.
  2. In the back of the tub, unclip or remove the screw from the upper spray arm supply tube.
  3. Rotate the lower spray arm support to the right while disconnecting the supply tube from it.
  4. Remove the four torx screws from the sump cover, remove assembly.
  5. There may be a primary filter in the left side of the sump, if so, remove the torx screw and the filter.
  6. On the right side there is the chopper assembly cover. Remove the torx screw and cover to expose the chopper.

Hope everything goes well for you,

Regards

Richard

Kenmore dishwasher: Pre-wash cycle is too short: fills with water, runs for only one second, and then drains. The rest of the cycle is fine; the dishes get clean.

Pre-wash may be compromised and a new power circuit board may be needed.
My advice: As long as the other cycles are accurate and work as usual; Pre-wash in your sink (spray off waste material) before you place the dishes in the washer and commence cleaning. Its best to wash off food and other material before washing in the machine to avoid clogging the drains and pump.

Sears dishwasher not cleaning

You may have a bad pump, or the pump intake (inside the bottom tray, under the dish racks) may be clogged with crud from years of dirty dishes.

No reaction when start button is pushed on Kenmore UltraWash model 665 dishwasher. The clear /drain button works. No water filling

you have a bad water valve or bad user interface that's the long control in the front of the dish washer.

Kenmore model 665

You need to check the arm's holes for clogs. If the water is filling and draining well, the only water that circulates is being pushed up through the center hole or tower.

The angles of the holes cause them to be little jets when the water rushes out. No water getting through = no jet = no spin.

Water draining is premature

In my case, I had the same problem until I realized the drain hose was not looped high enough. Once I looped the drain hose higher than the dishwasher, the problem went away and it washes dishes perfectly.

When the drain hose is installed too low, the water in the machine will only stay as high as the hose is installed because of the laws of physics.

The same applies to laundry machines - that is why the drain hose is set to drain from a higher point than the drum of the washer.

Good luck and Blessings!
