LG REfrigerator - water line connector

the valve or its supply line is leaking --damaged or loose connection if your able to isolate the problem say its the valve you can change the valve with simple tools same if water line can buy a repair kit

The leak is probably from the small PVC water line leading to the freezer door ice/water dispenser. Manufacturers put a small plastic joiner at that point to allow removal of the door for shipping and installation. That tiny connector can become easily disconnected and leak water onto the floor every time someone presses the water valve in the dispenser. It's easy to fix, Lowes and Home Depot have the fix-it kit for about $5, but you will probably find the existing joiner parts already attached but only needing to be rejoined.

I'll attach a photo of the Home Depot kit. you can also order it from Amazon and have it delivered right to your mailbox. Search for a "refrigerator door water line connector" and you should see a GE part number WR02X11330.

Your feed line may have a leak in the line itself or in one of the connectors. This it the line that sends water to the automatic ice-maker. Check the line coming from the wall to the ice-maker connector and slide your hand down the line. You will find water somewhere along this line and you have found your leak. This should be very easy to fix.

Clean out the new ice maker with warm soapy water.

Ensure that the floor surface under your refrigerator is level. If the floor surface under your refrigerator isn't level, you can place shims under the legs of the refrigerator to fix the uneven surface.

Turn off the main water supply to your house.

Clear the water line by running the faucets until the pipe clears.

Screw the copper supply line's connector to the house's cold water connector valve. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten the connection.

Slide the compression sleeve and nut onto the other end of the copper supply line. The compression sleeve and nut will wrap around the outside of the copper supply line.

Bend the copper supply line to fit into the water line inlet casing located on the back of the refrigerator. Leave slack in the line so that the refrigerator can be pulled away from the wall or cabinets. The water line inlet casing is a plastic bracket used to hold the copper supply line in place so that there is no pull on the tubing's connection. It is the larger of the two plastic brackets located on the back of the refrigerator.

Insert the compression sleeve located around the end of the copper supply line into the ice maker connector. The ice maker connector is already installed on the back of the Maytag refrigerator.

Tighten the nut over the connection between the compression sleeve on the copper supply line and the ice maker connector with an adjustable wrench.

Attach the water supply tube clamp to the water supply line by clipping it into place. The water supply tube clamp is a plastic bracket located on the back of the refrigerator that holds the supply tube so that it doesn't rattle and become disconnected. It is the smaller of the two brackets located on the back of the refrigerator.

Turn on the main water supply.

Check all connections for leaks.

Position the drain hose located on the back of the ice maker over your floor drain. Use a PVC pipe if you need to redirect the drain hose flow so that it falls over the floor drain. The PVC pipe should not touch the drain hose and should have no low point where the water can settle.

Plug the ice maker into a 3-prong grounded outlet.

Yes as I stated on other posts, go to an appliance shop and get a threaded connector. Mine cost about $7 and i had to do some minor adjustment cutting to the plastic guard at the bottom of fridge/freezer...so the new piece would not put too much pressure on the line. The white coupling connector on the line u will see has a red and blue washer conected on eitrher side of water line. To disconnect line ..just push in on top of washer and pull line. Cut the torn lines so u at least have a line that is clean and mostly straight, but dont cut TOO MUCH!! just the bare edge, about 1/8 " inch. Use some needle nose pliers ,real small ones.. to pull the line from bottom of door and apply connector. Put lines back on and do faceplate and check for leaks. Good luck!!

Remove the toe kick, on the t side you will see a connector where two water lines meet, if the water is leaking there, push the two lines into the connector and then pull back on them to make sure they are sealed. test to see if it still leaks, if it does push the red or blue ring around the line in, while doing that pull the line out of the connector, repaet for the opposite side. use a razor or sharp knife and cut about a half inch off each line, make sure they are flat, push them back into the connector, and pull to seal, if it still leaks replace the connector. If the wateer is coming out of the freezer door replace the water line that goes through the door.

Replace the line. Splicing a line can lead to leaks down the line. You can get the material you need from a local hardware store.

yes easy this is called a "john guest" fitting probably after the now fabulously wealthy man who invented it. push the ring in BEFORE you remove the tube and you can use them again. availabe @ hardware and appliance supply stores everywhere

Dripping problem is from 2 sources.  Faulty water valve or faulty water connector behind refrigerator.  If the dripping is constant and doesn't seem to end, then it's a faulty water valve.  If the dripping stops after awhile, then the water connector is allowing air into the water line causing the dripping.  Have that connection checked to make sure that it's securely in place.

It sounds like your water valve is occasionally get stuck open and over filling the icemaker.
