I have tried to reset unit by pressing the start button 10 times and then holding button in for 10 seconds then plugging printer back into the power source. I obtain the same results 1 quick beep and the screen illuminates for a very short time the printer immediately shuts down. This has been a great printer so far!

If the 6 flashes are accompanied by an on screen message #5400, this is a "Service Call Error" code.
This code indicates the following;
Internal temperature error [5400]
The solution to this is the following part replacementl
- Logic board ***'y (QM2-1548) *1
*1: Before replacement of the logic board ***'y, check the waste ink amount (by service test print or EEPROM information print). If the waste ink amount is 7% or
more, also replace the bottom case unit (QM2-1205) or the ink absorbers (QC1-4222 / 4223 / 4224 / 4263 / 4264 / 4864 / 4221 / 4257) when replacing the
logic board ***'y.

Tro go to the web page of te manufacturer of the refiller, or probably thechain store that refilled the cartridge,.
They usually hav ethe speps to take to reset the cartridge error.
for the time being Try unplugging the printer, then power it on while it isunplugged.
then let it sit overnight. plug it in and see if it will reset.

Solution:
1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Press resume
