Alarm sounds when defrost cycle ends & Green freezer light flashing continuously, Not cooling or freezing properly. Please see notes

Long story following, but briefly at first. I am trying to do repairs myself. The first thing happened was alarm, and then noticed that freezer door seal had become dislodged. Pushed it back into position, but some time later alarm sounded again. *Evaporator icing up, but defrost cycle appears to be working correctly. *Defrost element is heating and melting ice, very little if any remaining at end of cycle. Also tested continuity (136ohms). Evaporation tray on compressor has been full for a few days. *Found broken wire on Freezer Compartment fan and soldered to fix. Tested and is working. Success I thought, but alarm still sounds and still not cooling properly e.g. 12 degrees fridge & -5 degrees freezer. Temp Settings on control panel in the middle. *Both fans seem to be working but only operate at high rpm for about 15 seconds after closing door. Noticed fridge fan continues at lower rpm but not sure about Freezer fan. Haven't heard fans at high rpm other than after door closing. I don't know if that's normal? *Compressor cycling on and off, but running a lot of the time. I'm basically in the dark, but I'm thinking the freezer seal leaking might have caused evaporator to freeze up. Fan may have hit ice and broken the wire. Having repaired the wire, I don't know why we still have the problems. I've removed control panel inside fridge and looked at circuit board, can't see obvious damage. Thought I could check the continuity of the evaporator sensor there, but wires don't go to it. Don't know how or where to check other sensors, or what readings should be. If I knew what the stage number of our fridge was I might be able to find it here maybe - http://appliancehelponline.com/fisherpaykel.html Thanks ahead of time to anyone that can help in any way. Cheers Ross P.S. I've been keeping notes of what's happened and what I've tried in a word doc. I could paste it in here, but I'm not sure if it would be taking up too much space or going into too much depth for my own good???

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Fisher and Paykel E402B

Your automatic defrosting circuit is not working. There are several components that can stop the defrosting process:
1. The defrost control
2. The defrost element
3. The defrost thermostat

Any one of the 3 can open cause the automatic defrosting process NOT to work.

If the defrost control fails, it just stops defrosting and ice builds up on the evaporator coils.
If the defrost element fails it will go into the defrost cycle and not cool again until the internal temps reach 60 Deg F.
If the defrost thermostat fails in the open position the heater will not heat up and the freezer will ice up.

There are 6 models of the R402B so I was not able to narrow down a source your exact parts data.
However, if the defrost control has failed the good news is the most expensive one is $18.95 AUD

Hopefully this gives you something to go on. I think it will either be the defrost control or the thermostat. If you can locate the defrost control turn it until it clicks ONCE and see if the unit shuts off and completes a defrost cycle. If it heats up but does not complete the defrost cycle again your looking at a problem with the defrost thermostat. If it does not heat at all then the problem is the heating element.

The defrost control will have 2 sloped tabs on it so that you can only turn the control one direction. The defrost control dial with the tabs will be no larger than 1/2 inch in diameter.

AU parts: https://www.statewideapp.com.au/shop

You most likely will have to make a "contact" enquiry at either site above. For the defrost tmer, heating element or the defrost thermostat.

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

SOURCE: Compressor running continuously. Hearing surging sound. Both fridge & freezer not cooling.

there may be a blockage in the evaporator tube in the fridge sections and the only way to establish what the fault is will be to have fridge technician run test on it

My Hotpoint FUFL1810P that keeps beeping and the lights inside are flashing when the door is opened, I have reset by turning the power off and on again and also by turning the freezer switch off and on....

Something to think about from the manual for your freezer. Also I would check the temperature of your freezer with a thermometer to make sure it is freezing ok .Troubleshooting
If the appliance does not work, before calling for Assistance (see
Assistance), check for a solution from the following list.
The green POWER indicator light does not illuminate.
ā€¢ The plug has not been inserted into the electrical socket, or not
far enough to make contact, or there is no power in the house.
The motor does not start.
ā€¢ The appliance comes with a motor protection control (
see Start-
up and use
).
The indicator lights are on but the light is dim.
ā€¢ Pull out and reverse the plug before putting it back in the socket.
a) The alarm sounds.
a) The refrigerator door has remained open for more than two
minutes (the buzzer will stop sounding when you shut the door) or
the correct switching-off procedure was not followed (
see
Maintenance
).
b) The alarm sounds and the two yellow indicator lights
flash.
b) The temperature in the freezer is too high. Check the quality of
the food products and dispose if necessary.
+ buzzer =
Heating is excessive
c) The alarm sounds and the two yellow indicator lights
as well as the green one flash.
c) The temperature in the freezer has reached a dangerous level.
The food must be disposed immediately.
+ buzzer =
Heating danger
b/c)
In both these cases the freezer will maintain a temperature of
about 0Ā°C so that the food does not re-freeze.
To turn off the acoustic signal open and close the refrigerator door.
To restore normal operation bring the FREEZER OPERATION knob
setting to
(off) and turn the appliance on again.
The green POWER indicator light flashes.
ā€¢ The appliance is not operating correctly. Contact the Technical
Assistance Centre.
The refrigerator and the freezer do not cool well.
ā€¢ The doors do not close properly or the seals are damaged.
ā€¢ The doors are opened too frequently.
ā€¢ The OPERATION knobs are not on the correct setting (
see
Description
).
ā€¢ The refrigerator or the freezer have been over-filled.
The food inside the refrigerator is beginning to freeze.
ā€¢ The REFRIGERATOR OPERATION knob is not on the correct
setting (
see Description
).
ā€¢ The food is in contact with the back inside wall of the refrigerator.
The motor runs continuously.
ā€¢ The SUPER FREEZE button has been pressed (rapid freezing):
the yellow SUPER FREEZE light is on or flashing (
see
Description
).
ā€¢ The door is not closed properly or is continuously opened.
ā€¢ The outside ambient temperature is very high.

Why is Zanussi frost free freezer alarm always flashing

Because it does not achieve the correct temperature (for example: -18 degrees centigrade).
For a more precise answer I need more information.
A lot of things may be incorrect:
- Doesn't work defrosting cycle
- The cooling fan is not working
- Too much ice on the evaporator battery
- Faulty thermostat or NTC sensor
- Faulty cooling system (gas leak)
- Compressor
- Electronic

Both Lights flashing and fridge not getting cold

I turned the fridge and freezer off using the circular dials, I then turned the unit off at the mains. Left it for a few minutes and then turned the power back on. I then turned the circular dials to "max" and then depressed the super cool and super freeze buttons to turn this facility on. This time they came on normally (not flashing) and no alarm sounded. The fridge and freezer then started to get cold. Once the unit had been running for several hours I then turned the dials to the 3/4 mark and depressed the super cool and super freeze buttons again to turn them off. Over night the fridge and the freezer appear to be working properly so I hope that my problem is solved. Maybe the unit just needed to "settle" before being switched on?

Alarm

the alarm is there to warn you that the freezers not up to set tempature.. The reason as I see what you wrote would be a stuck or burnt out auto defrost timer motor. or the units got a leak in the refrigerant line??? good luck
