Check page counter on Canon MF6590

That suggests either that the jam or clearing it physically damaged something, or that despite looking carefully there is still at least a little bit of paper jammed in there somewhere. I do't know how often my printers have jammed on something very much smaller than my little finger nail...

Yes, the scan to computer feature will only work if the MF6950 is connected to a computer via the USB port. See page 7-2 (page 165 of the PDF) of the Basic Operation Guide for the multi-function MF6950.

I hope this helps. Please note: the scanner requires bi-directional communication with the computer. It may fail if you have a long/damaged USB cable, use a USB hub, or a port problem. If you have an issue on the USB connection, try a new USB cable and a direct connection to the computer before doing any other trouble-shooting.

Check whether any piece of paper is stuck. This may due to paper feeder/out roller may having the issue. Replace/repair will resolve your problem.

If there is a LCD panel on the front there will be a maintenance mode for you printer if you find out which key presses you need to enter it then you will find the page count plus other info like no. of cartridges, you might have to go to a 3rd party dealer who specializes in printer repair as most companies like canon and brother can get hold of the service PDF's.
