All pro 175 forced air heater not working broken pressure guage no fuel at nozle
Heater wasent working right (flame for a muinite then spraying fuel mix)hoses were cracked so i replaced them. during that i broke the barbed fitting off the pressure guage. now no flame or fuel mix at the nozzle.
i block off pressure guage still no fuel but i do feel some pressure. can i block off pressure guage or do i need it i cant find a replacement. why else would heater not work.

If the heater continuously has a 5 hour run-time check to see if the fuel pickup tube goes to the bottom of the tank. If broken, cracked, or shortened the fuel will stop being picked up when air is sucked rather than fuel.
did you try cleaning the lens of the photocell, they git dirty from smoke ver time which regulates the flame or replace the nozzle, sounds like it could be getting plugged up? usually any heating store would have a nozzle for a couple bucks if you get the number off it. the nozzle is right where it comes out and they are common to plug up at times with wear
I am sure you have confirmed that the fuel is fresh and good, no water in it, etc.-- It is kerosene, not #2 Diesel fuel, right?
And the shutting down is good, if the flame does NOT ignite--- :-) So we have to figure out why the fuel is not getting hot enough to ignite?
Question-- is the oil spray passing close enough to the ignitor? And this unit does NOT use SPARK to ignite?, correct? -- for most of these heaters have spark ignition.. I am learning all the time, too!
How about checking the fuel pressure. and the air -- is it correct? Check with your manual how to check and adjust.

Remove the top of the heater. Watch out for the fan and turn the heater on. Make sure the igniter is working and use a flashlight to check for fuel spraying from the nozzle. If Fuel isn't spraying remove the nozzle and clean it. You should be able to see a light through the hole. Check the fuel filter and clean or replace if necessary. If these are OK and you still don't have fuel flow, check the air pressure. There are 2 plugs in the filter cover on the back of the fan motor. One has a hole in the center and is used to adjust air pressure. Install a guage in the other one. The pressure you want is listed on the data label of the heater.
If the igniter isn't working, check the flame sensor. It is a photo type sensor. Use a soft rag or cotton swab to clean the eye. You can test the eye with an ohmmeter. Connect it to the leads of the sensor. Cover the sensor and you should read around 4500 ohms. Uncover it and let light in and it should read 200-300 ohms.

These units have a air pump on the back of the fan motor. Has anyone messed with the settings? The pump usually runs off of 5 to 6 lbs. of pump pressure. This is what controls the fuel flow that is sprayed out of the fuel injector. This unit also should have a photo eye for flame out control. It is positioned near the ignitor looking though a hole in the combustion chamber. Make sure it is clean and looking in the hole. Make sure your ignitor is working also.
Follow this link. It sounds as if the rotor (air pump) is broken and needs to be replaced. Replace the rotor, then set the pump pressure with a low pressure gauge.. How to replace a rotor
Have you checked the air pressure it should be around 6lbs. to do this is in the back on the filter cover remove plug that is on the left side insert a pressure guage turn on heater and look at guage you can adjust air pressure by turning the slotted screw that is to the right of the guage. If you cant get 6lbs of pressure then check the rotor assy. and check to see if you have any cracks any where on the filter cover.
