I got a new kodak 5300 around jan 2.i used it one day & the ac adapter quit working. kodak support said they would send me a new one(the first time was on Jan 4)I have since called & chatted with Kodak support & they always say ,we'll call you back(which they haven't done .Today is Jan 28,2009)Well anyways, I borrowed a cord from a friend, wanting to be sure there aren't any other problems, before the warranty runs out.It printed terribly, faded to almost no color,I I cleaned the printhead and printed a diagnostic sheet, it listed these error codes on Feb 19, 2008(3501), Dec 31,2008(3515), Dec 31,2008(3502)Jan 1,2009 (3501) (these dates are before I got my printer) and on Jan 27, 2009(3501). #1.,What do these error codes mean, and #2., Why would there be those error codes previous to the date of my purchase, and finally, HOW CAN YOU GET SOME SUPPORT FROM KODAK SUPPORT?

Error code "6203" can be resolved as follows: First, you need to open the access door of the printer and disconnect the power adapter from it. You then need to wait for at least 30 seconds for the printer to get reset. As a next step, you can connect the power adapter back to the printer. You can turn on the printer, if required. Once the printer gets powered up, a message "Printer access door open" gets displayed. Once this message gets popped up you can close the access door of the printer. get more help for Printer Error Code 6203 Hope this helps you.
Not too long ago I had the very same problem. After TWO days with Kodak support over the phone they had to send me a new printer. It has to do with the printer that only they can repair. Reinstalling software will not fix the problem, at least in my case. Hope it works out.
This is a error message of the scanner. 1. Turn printer on. 2. Unplug ac adapter. 3. wait 1 minute. 4. Plug ac adapter in printer. 5. wait until the printer is ready.
when the error still occurs, the printer is definetly defect.
try using the system restore option on Dell computer.........as you have vista,,,click on the start button and type system restore in start search box and follow the on screen instructions and select yesterday's date and proceed.......should help:)
Don't know what to tell you on how a company is performing when it comes to THEIR customer support .. but the best I can do is show you a place where you could just buy a new one on your own
Ten Step Process to Fix the "Print Head" Error Message on the Kodak 5300 Printer.
1. Clear a good spot it your back yard that is free of shrups and flowers.
2. Get the following tools: Flat head screwdriver, shovel, sledgehammer.
3. Dig 24" x 24" hole in your back yard and rope off the excavation area for safety.
4. Whaaaaack the heck out of the Kodak 5300 with the sledgehammmer until such time that it is not a recognizeable piece of electronic equipment.
5. Stab it with the flat head screwdriver, just in case it has the Terminator syndrome (comes back to life).
6. Throw the piece of garbage in the recently excavated hole in your back yard.
7. Cover up that useless piece of garbage and forget you ever owned it.
8. Get in your car and go to the nearest electronic store and ask to speak to the manager.
9. Ask if they sell the Kodak 5300 printer. If so, whack him with the shovel. You don't want to seriously injure him so don't even consider the sledgehammer of the screwdriver. After all, its not his fault that his company carries such garbarge. But the whack is just to burn off some steam from your frustrations.
10. Purchase any other printer but a Kodak and live happily ever after.
I got the same Problem as listed above. This is the way how I was able to solve it:
Remove the color and black ink cartridges and the printhead. (the
5300 Printhead can be removed by pressing a button on top of the
carriage and a slight pull --> for better instructions use this official Kodak PDF)
Try to clean the printhead and the carriage with a slighty wet
cloth from ink. CAUTION!: better not touch the green electronic chip!
Be carefull while cleaning.
Reinstall the printhead and the ink cartridges.
If the printer detects a 'new' printhead just do a calibration and your are done. If not try to print a test page.
Return the printer to the store. I had to do it myself 3 times. First I got a 5100 with the printhead error, got a replacement the day after the scanner was producing distorted image. Upgraded to a 5300, the scanner wouldn't work at all.
To avoid problems get yourself a Canon or Epson.
The version of firmware you originally had on the printer when you
changed the ink cartridge was bad. There is a known issue that when you
put in a new ink cartridge when the printer is in the error state
"COLOR INK
EMPTY. REPLACE COLOR INK CARTRIDGE" the unit writes that value to the
new ink cartridge so you will continue to have that error.
So to fix
your problem Open the access door and Remove the ink cartridges. Then download and install
the new Firmware. Heres the link.
