Hi Janine, door locks don't cost a lot I have had to buy one a year ago it only cost me £8-00 i fitted it it was easy, but again it depends on the washing machine type mine was an Indisit and it again depends on if you are fitting it or you are getting a washing technician in.
If there is power , the door switch is good and the water pressure is fine then the possible fault can only be the program controller unit.
You will need to check the voltage on the board, check the panel settings and see if the program is executed. If not this seems the prime suspect.
Remove the rear panel of washer.
Remove belt from motor, unplug lead to motor, remove earth wire.
Undo screws securing motor, and remove motor.
The brushes are located at the opposite end to the motor pulley, you will see a wire going to each brush.
firstly unplug the appliance, then take top off then with you hand reach down towards the door mechanism on the inside then feel for a lever or the cable and play around with that and the door will spring open, then check the door handle
We have a WM-1480FHD, with the door stuck shut. It appears the door release mechanism in the actual door has broken, so when you pull the lver part, the catch is not released. You need to get a very flat knife, insert between the door and the front of the machine, right in the middle behind the release handle and push the hook towards the right side of the machine.Once open, you can check the release mechanism in the actual door. Ours is broken, so need to sort out how to repair/replace it next!
Try turning off the machine at the plug for about 10 minutes or until the light on the machine disappears, then try to open the door. Usually works for me.
