After a few years of not being used, My Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge (and also my DataVideo DAC-100) didn't work on Windows-7, XP, or Mac Os 10.5.x. I even reinstalled some of my old software... but just could not get anything to work! I eventually solved the problem by hooking up the Dazzle directly to my old Canon XM-1/GL-1 DV-Camcorder and recording from VHS via S-Video to Dazzle via firewire to the Camcorder. And then was able to collect the footage from the camera with iMovie.

How do I download my DV tapes from DCR - HC19E sony to my Dell window 7 os lap-top please. I've lost the original software.

Hi, I'd suggest getting a Pinnacle Dazzle, it comes with a part that the connection's from the camcorder plug into then it plugs into your USB and it comes with software for transferring the video as well as doing basic editing. You can have a look at it here: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+Video+Archiving/Dazzle+Video+Creator+Plus+HD.htm

How to transfer from the tape to computer to burn a dvd

Hi,
To transfer your canon data in tape, you need to install driver of canon mini dv in your computer. Then paired your canon with computer trough usb to make data transferring. To burn a dvd disc you need to install software for dvd burner like Nero S in your computer to edit your AV and burn into DVD disc. Make sure your computer have DVD R/W to do so.

I cannot download from camcorder dcr-trv330 to pc.. help It is a Sony Digital 8. I downloaded the USb driver but pc does not recognize it. Is ther any other way to download tapes to PC?or make a DVD

If your PC has DV link port, connect camera via DV link and transfer movie files in computer.
Other way is to hook camera with DVD recorder and burn DVD.
Thanks.

Copying home made video from sony Hi8 tapes to Sony DV mini tapes

Sony DCR-HC21 has a multi-AV in, your Hi-8 should have a mini (4 band) to multi AV out. The cable would look like a stereo headphone cable on one end with thre RDA type plugs on the other end; red, white, yellow. The mulit in on the DV would probabaly be the same type connector. Youd have to use a coupler set for the two multi-av cables to bridge video to video and audio to audio. Come out of the Hi8 into the miniDV recorder. You should not need a Dazzle unless you want to transfer to a PC for editing before moving video back to a miniDV tape.

Hollywood Dazzle Problem

One way I got past that (it sounds strange but worked for me). try playing the video from your device while iMovie is closed. Then open iMovie while the video is playing through the Dazzle and then try. iMovie seems to recognize whether its PAL or NTSC as it loads up. hope this helps

How do I transfer my camcorders recordings from HI8 tape to a computer or DVD?

Do you have another video camera that will hook up to your computer? In the past, I've connected my old Hi-8 to my Mini DV, recorded the footage from the Hi-8 to the Mini DV and then digitized on the computer from the Mini DV. You will however need some video software like iMovie for this solution.
You can also, hook the Hi-8 camera up to a VCR or TV using the appropriate cable and view it that way.
