The computer I bought in 2004 has died. Had to buy a new one. Went to load my CD for Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 and I am unable to find the product-key on the box/case. I have looked through three years of tax files to find the certificate of authenticity that I obviously did not put with all other records for the computer. Is there any way I can locate this key. I would have registered online when I bought the program. Help.
Unfortunately not. You could probably use serials from websites like these http://license4key.blogspot.com/2013/03/microsof-office-2007.html
But I should warn you of possible legal implications with using those.

If you have a bootleg copy of the software, there is nothing that can be done for you.
You must not have the program installed on other computers.
You must purchase an original Microsoft CD.
No temporary product key is required for the trial period, unless that has changed in Office 2007.
Did you purchase a new computer with office 2007 installed already?

The only thing I can think of is that maybe you had a trial version pre-installed on your pc and you have used your time on it. If that is the case then it doesn't matter how many times you enter a new key, it will not register it as a new installation, it will come back with 'trial has expired'. Don't forget that the countdown to the trial begins the first time you open a package within office. You can buy the home and student version for about £90.00 full version. If you do this and buy it in CD form, then I suggest that before you install it onto your computer that you uninstall any instances of the trial verison you have loaded. This will ensure a no problem installation of the new version that you will be loading. You also need to have administration rights to do this if you are working in Windows Vista.

Hi There !!
Thank you for writing to Fixya.com
Yes, I have a key for MS Office 2007, with me which is for Office Professional 2007, but I cannot share with you because, It costs me $ 100. So if you want to buy one for you, check this out & MS is offering a good discount for students.Because for students, they are charging $59.99 or so. Check this out: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx & this is worth because they will give you the Office Ultimate 2007, which is fully loaded suite & the best suite ever in the history of Microsoft.
Now, if you are a Student & don't have that much money, here comes one better & good product for you: OpenOffice 3.0 . This is an open source software & available for free & it's worth, rather than using the pirated software. http://www.openoffice.org/
Hope this will help.
Take Care :-o)

Are you trying to install using a CD-RW. If so there was an issue with some of them reading the CD. I was tech support for Microsoft Office for 3 years. Copy the Office 2007 CD to a folder on the desktop and try to install it from this folder. Or try from another CD.
