My Braun MR550 M CA blender with a metal shaft quit working (bearing in shaft wore out). Most of the part sites including Braun said the replacement part was no longer available. I found a replacement that has a plastic shaft and still fits the motor unit. It is part number M 4187-624 from theEssentials.com and only cost $8.00! Far cheaper than a new unit.
