MY Maytag Wide by Side freezes in the produce drawers.

I have replaced the refrigerater motor in the freezer a year ago when the refrigerater wasn't cooling properly.

When I set the refrigerater warmer it's been gettin cooler instead.

I'm very frustrated with this product!!

When a unit freezes in the lower drawers this is usually due to a thermistor which is not functioning properly. If you can provide your model number I can try to locate your schematic to your unit showing the thermistor that you would replace to alleviate this issue. I will await your reply as to the complete model number of your unit.
p.s if you had ice up the top of the unit as well then you would look at the damper door otherwise known as the diffuser door in some units or the control for the door as the problem area in your unit.
Thank you,
Rick

Maytag Refrigerator

Pull out your WIDE-N-FRESH Deli Drawer at the bottom, and when the lid automatically raises look to the right: you'll find a sliding temperature controller that most likely is all the way up. Slide it down towards the bottom and this will cut back on the cool. Worked for ours!

Food is freezing in the bottom drawer of my Maytag side by side

check to make sure the slide controls for teh bottom drawer is set to vegtables also it is not uncommon for the temps in the bottom drawer of your refrig to drop down to freezing if you have infrequent door openings. you may also try setting the refrig temperature to a warmer setting as well. thx Peyton

Maytag MSD2655HEB cold in bottom, no air flow

No air flow at all means Fan is not working. Also check damper between freezer and fridge.

Maytag Wide by Side (5 years old) Freezing Refrigerator & Freezer

There is 2 things you can replaced to rectify this problem .
1 is the defrost timer and the next is the thermostat.
On the thermostat is a metal rod that is connected to a vent so when you adjust it it open or closes the vent .Just make sure that is not loose because if it's loose even though you turn thermostat down the vent would be wide open allowing freezing air to get into refrigerator.

Refrigerator is freezing on the produce side

if you get frozen fresh food the air damper is not closing allowing too much freezer air to enter ff section, looks like an electronic controlled wide by side you have, ther should be a tch sheet with a troubleshooting guide behind the kickplate or pasted in an envelope under the front of refrig behind kickplate.
