I have a Chamberlain LiftMaster Pro 1.3 garage door opener (371LM) that works fine from the wired button, but the remote doesn't work. From the picture on this site, I think the remote I have is Chamberlain 950CB.
The Chamberlain was installed new with the house just two years ago (Feb 06). The remote worked fine until I programmed one of my car visor buttons to open the garage door about a month ago. Then the car button worked but the remote stopped working. So a week ago, I tried to reprogram the remote by pressing the learn key on the opener and pressing the remote key. The process seemed to go fine, with the lights flashing at the proper time. But afterward the remote didn't work and my car button stopped working.
I've tried reprogramming the remote and the car button several times to no avail. I've also replaced the battery in the remote and reprogrammed it, but nothing. I do have two remotes, and have replaced the battery in the other one as well, tried reprogramming it. Nothing.
At this point, the only thing that works is the wired button on the wall. Funny thing, when I press the remote button, the light on the opener flashes as though it is receiving the signal, but the door doesn't budge.
This makes sense, but unfortunately there is no lock button on my system. I ended up taking the batteries out of my remotes and putting them back in to see if this would reset anything. (They were brand new.) Then I pressed and released the Learn button, then pressed the button on the remote (it's a single-button remote), and that successfully reprogrammed each remote. Now I'm back to my original problem of the remotes working, but the car visor button not working. But this is a better problem to have. My Bose sound bar worked fine for about a year. Now it turns on and the light flashes like it is working, but no sound comes out. Could it be the battery in the remote, even though the light is coming on and flashing? My Bose sound bar worked fine for about a year. I upgraded to the liftmaster wifi kit so I have the larger button (replace old simple one) It was working fine but cars started not communicating consistantly. I unplugged it and it seemed to erase the code. Got keypad to work but using the learn button on the button on the wall.I upgraded to the liftmaster wifi kit so I have the larger button (replace old simple one) It was working fine but cars started not communicating consistantly. It sounds like the wall button has the lock feature engauged.
Is there a small green LED flashing inside the wall button?
Push and hold the lock button for about two seconds and the LED should stop flashing. This will unlock the garage door opener and your remotes should start working. You may have to reprogram your remotes and homelink again since you triedprograming in the lock mode.

Try the programation with the central control of de wall
hold light boton then press de open botton (dont un unpress the light botton. Then put the control about 2 inch of the main control until its open or close the garage door.
If you look on the back of the motor head, where the terminal strip is
located, you will either find a set of numbered switches (1 through 9)
with +, 0, - settings, or a colored square button. If you have the
numbered switches, you want the 61LM model transmitter. If, instead, you
have a colored, square button, check to see what color the indicator
light, adjacent to this button, emits when it is pressed. If the
indicator light is the color green, you want the model 81LM remote
transmitter, if the indicator light is an amber color, you want the
model 971LM transmitter.
The easiest way to program is to hold the button on the remote while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button. If it worked before there is no reason for it not to work now unless it totally failed.
forget about that , that remote is done!, just go to sears or home depot or if you want ,from amazon ,a universal reciever and remote kit , they cost around 50 dollars and the reciever just has two bell wires connected to the machine terminal 1 and 2 dosent matter which way you wire it red to white or white to red , connect the two wires to the terminals in the reciever and the other end goes to the 1-2 terminals ON THE MACHINE FROM LEFT TO RIGHT THE FIRST TWO SCREWS you will see it because you already have two wires connected to it ,just add theese also and then plug the reciever in , you remote is already programmed from the factory so their is no programming ! Hope this helps you ,if you thoght i was helpful please leave a nice rating and thank you again Sincerely Glenn mayer
