The sensors are rubber, and don't usually crack. Most of the time they are dirty and can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips VERY carefully. Also be careful of the ribbon wires inside the keyboard. The keys should just snap in and out. I cleaned mine a little while ago, and now it works perfectly.

SOURCE: I have a Casio Privia PX-320. The left side keys

Check that the front of the keys is not hitting the lower plastic case front. If they hit it, then you need to disassemble the case partly and see what has shifted. It is ALSO possible that something has caaaused the aftertouch sensor to move out of position and it is hitting the keys early. ANY of these conditions needs to be addressed before damage is done.

IF every key sounds like it is doing that, you may have two voices selected with one of them being transposed.

You may have an "effect" turned on that generates a chorus, layered or multiple voice sounds.

SOURCE: casio privia key issue

The only way to analyze this is to open the case. You may find contaminating material has gotten in, or broken part, or key slightly out of position on pivots or pivot plastic broken.

When opening, be VERY careful of the tender ribbon cables. Have a large work surface that you can unfold the top onto. Be careful to use correct screw lengths and thread in each place you removed.

SOURCE: I've recently purchased a Roland

Sorry, but Roland uses the opposite sense switch. They use normally closed where Casio requires normally open contacts. SOMETIMES one can rewire the pedal internally, but you have to be mechanically and electrically inclined to do that.

My Casio Privia PX-330BK Keyboard won't turn on.

Try checking your power cord. Perhaps someone stepped on it and it pulled out. It happened to me once. I thought something was terribly wrong with it. I was pretty embarrassed to find out that I'd just cut off power via cable... check your cords before worrying too much. If nothing seems to be wrong, take it in to the repair shop.

My casio privia px830 pedal doesn't sustain enough,

It could be that the electronics of the pedal are dirty, or that dirt has collected under it causing it to not depress all the way. Try taking it apart and cleaning it with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Be very careful of any wires or delicate articles.

When wiring around circuit board cracks, one must use adequate sized wires and keep the leads short. Also you MAY have a microscopic crack in yet another conductor that flexes when you play the keyboard and freezes it. Use a high intensity LED light from the topside to "candle" the board and look for cracks. Look for cracking of the board material that may have tiny cracks in the circuit traces.

Springy keys......is there a way to lesson the intensity of the spring after touch?

In a word, NO. They simulate weighted keys by adding spring force and inertial weights. It gives a more realistic feel, however it is stiffer, more like an acoustic piano. You will develop strength and get used to them... If you have been used to playing some synths that are not hammer weighted these keys will seem very springy.

One of the two contacts for that key is not working. This could be dirty or damaged contact. They use a conductive rubber pills that the key presses against circuit board traces. One contact makes before the other and this is how velocity is sensed. Unless you are adept at this repair, I would recommend you take it in for repair. Chances are any part cost is negligible... mostly labor to open and access the contacts for cleaning. Clean ONLY with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Q TIps... VERY GENTLY.

My Casio Privia PX-110 is playing two notes at once on just one key. It sounds like I am playing two contigous notes, when only one is being pressed.

IF every key sounds like it is doing that, you may have two voices selected with one of them being transposed.

You may have an "effect" turned on that generates a chorus, layered or multiple voice sounds.
