There is a fix for several Microsoft combat flight bugs, some of them are about controller compatibility problems.

Download the patch from Microsoft here.

If that does not fix the problem contact Microsoft.

WHAT SOFTWARE DID YOU DOWNLOAD?
FROM WHAT WEB SITE DID YOU DOWNLOAD IT?

I hope this is helpful!

Hi there
If all the good advice given by my colleagues has not worked then the joystick is faulty or the operating system does not support the joystick, for example, if you use Vista and the joystick was meant for XP, make sure the joystick is compatible with the operating system you are using, if it is, then it could be a fault with the joystick itself.

Good luck

First thing you need to do is to install your joystick on your PC. This is relatively straightforward in Windows XP, as it tends to automatically recognise 'plug and play' devices, otherwise you may need to install a 'driver', a bit of software that tells windows how to communicate with the joystick.
In Windows 98, you will probably have to install a 'driver' (check before you buy that it is compatiblewith win98).
once you have done that, you should be able to start the game, go to the 'settings' and check a little box that says 'Enable Joystick'.
Then click 'Game Controllers', which opens a 'wizard' that will show you if the joystick hase been recognised by your PC.
If it has, click 'properties' then 'settings' then 'calibrate' which will take you through the calibration process step-by-step.

--------  you have to go to settings on the main menu the controls and select joystick, enable joystick and/or calibrate joystick. If this doesn't wok then in gameplay push "alt" on your keyboard if the task bar for flight simulator isn't at the top. Once or if it is allready there select settings and then enable joystick.

    Try unistalling..
reboot and see if it detects the device.. then if it does when it tries to install point the installation folder to C:\windows\system32 but only after reinstalling the software upon reboot.

    Good Luck

  • Anonymous Jan 19, 2009

please note..after uninstalling the software check in the device manager to see if the hardware-being the joystick sucessfully uninstalled itself.

  • Anonymous Jan 19, 2009

If you can't fix it using my tips then I have reviewed some of the better joysticks out there and I came up with this one for 29.99 Its a logitech.

Sorry if you cant fix it.. Remember always spend the extra cash to get a better component that will be compatible and functional.

Microsoft Combat Simulator Doesn't work with joy stick satik 290 pro. nothing works. it worked on xp. doesn't work on vista home.

You need the drivers from Saitek.com.

After selecting download > software, use the "Choose your Product Type) box. Select Joystick and you will find yours listed.

You need to know if you're using Vista or Vista64.

Install them, then plug your stick in. Should then work.

MCFS Joystick Problem

Make sure, that your Joystick is compatible with the version you are having problems with. If not, make sure that it's enabled in the configuration of MCFS. If none of those work, you will most likely have to purchase a more compatible Joystick.
