Drums for MIDI track to not work

I just purchased Acid Music Studio 7 and when I went to use the sounds from the MIDI track, they do not make drum sounds. Every other MIDI instrument works, but the drums sound like whatever the last MIDI instrument was. For example, let's say the bass kick is on the "C" note on the scrolling keyboard. When I try to map the bass drum, it just sounds like a C played on the piano.

I have a similar problem. I have the DTXPRESS IV electronic drum set and I've plugged it into my computer, it's reconized in the program and my device is working, but when I drum it comes out as piano notes on the program. I've tried changing the kit to see if it will recognize a different kit, but to no avail. How do I make my drums come out sounding like drums on the program?

I haven't ever used this program but it sounds like you have your MIDI channel assigned to the wrong number. The default MIDI channel for drums is channel 10. Assign the track you are trying to play drums from to channel 10 in your program.

I have a Fostex DMT-8vl 8 track digital recorder. Can I dump the tracks to Acid Music Studio 7 or Acid Pro 7 to save what I recorded in the Fostex 8 track, and will it go into seperate tracks? Thanks...

You can copy. You cannot just dump the file data. Unless you have an audio interface with multiple inputs, you can only copy 2 tracks at a time. Also, to sync the timing you'll need a midi port on the computer. Then you make the computer the "master" and the Fostex a "slave" device.

Still dont get it

Hi Mark.

Siorry, but because of a fault with the system I am not able to reach you on the other thread.

Normalizing tracks means leveling volume settings for a group of tracks or samples to mix or combine them together without troubles like the ones you got.

to normalise tracks you can use the function built in on the Korg studio, see normalize in the software help.

When operating on MIDIs also remember that MIDIs are recorded on different channel (example drums, guitar bass guitar).eg:bTd Aerosmith MIDI archive
When you use them on a sequencer, and you operate on the volume, ensure

Drums on sx3

Hi!

You can put the drums manually with the drum editor. To do that, place the left and right selectors (the blue zone you can loop), I mean select an area first. Then, double-click in the area, on the track you want to make the drums. A midi segment will appear on the time-line. Double-click this segment, and it will take you in a drum editor. It's easy to edit, you will get to know it fast.
