My Frigidaire washing machine is stuck on "sensing". It will not continue with wash cycle.

I ran a cleaning cycle before it prompted me because I felt the washer needed it. After running the cleaning cycle, I usually do a rinse and spin because I learned the hard way that some of the bleach stays in the bin. I know have tie-dyed sheets! The rinse and spin cycle never completed. It was stuck on "drain" for over a day. I tried to do a load of towels and my machine is now stuck on "sensing". I have tried doing different cycles, letting the machine sit with the door open, etc.

SOURCE: Frigidaire FWS833AS1 - My washing machine recently

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The smell might be due to burning of lid switch. If the washer isn't spinning then it might be dueto a Lid switch or due to a bad motor coupler. You can check for the lid switch& replace it--

First unplug the washing machine. Then remove the two screws that hold the top consolein place; these are located in back of the main console (where the dials are).Once removed, the entire console swivels back, exposing the wiresunderneath.

After this unplug the wiring harness that is connected to the washing machinetop flat surface. Now remove the two s-shaped brackets with a screwdriver byprying underneath. This will allow you to remove the main sheet metal framearound the washing machine. The lid switch assembly is located under the topconsole. Now, remove it and replace with the new assembly and put it backtogether.

Please look this schematicfor lid switch location(part # 50)--

You can buy the lid switch from this link--

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

SOURCE: My washing machine gets stuck after rinse cycle

Before spending any money calling a repairman or changing parts, check the drain hose. If it is too deep down into the drain pipe then pull it back so that only about 6 to 10 inches is down the pipe. If it is too far down then it creates a vacuum which drains the water as it is trying to fill for the final rinse.

Stuck on washing cycle

Thank you for your post, Patrick Chow!

From my understanding your Frigidaire dishwasher is getting stuck in the washing cycle. Sounds like you may have a possible issue with a sensor or control panel. I would suggest performing a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by disconnecting power from your dishwasher for approximately ten minutes. If you continue to experience problems with you dishwasher not cycling I would recommend reaching out to a technician for a diagnosis to be completed. The technician would be able to pinpoint the cause of the failure and complete repairs. Hope this is helpful. -Matt

Matayg Atlantis Washing Machine gets stuck in the Rinse Cycle and will continue to rinse for hours.

This is the sign of a bad timer. It is not sensing how long it has been in the cycle. The timer is not advancing. Replace the timer.
