Hold 'fm/am' and 'input mode' and press power button. Then cycle through menus using 'program' button until you come to the selection that says "preset inhibit". Then press 'preset/tuning' button to change it to "preset reservd". Then press power button to turn it off. When you turn it back on, it should be back to factory settings.

SOURCE: Microphone for my YAMAHA HTR-5440

Let me make this clear to you that your Yamaha does not support Microphone but the trick is you can still do it. All you need is a stereo jack to a RCA connector cable.Check this out http://www.mediacollege.com/audio/connection/jack-stereo-rca-2.html It is easily available in the market. The stereo jack will fit into your microphone and the RCA to your Amplifier/Reciever. Plug the RCA into CD/Tape input but not in the Phono n do your thing. Let me know if this works, coz I'm really curious.

SOURCE: HI I have a Yamaha

In order to restore the unit to factory settings:

  • Please put the unit into standby mode.
  • Then hold the power button while holding the "straight" button on the front panel of the unit.
  • After approximately 3 seconds "Advanced Setup" should be displayed on the front panel of the unit.
  • From this menu select "init" and then all.

This will restore all factory settings.

No sound from center channel yamaha 5440

mostly such behaviors are caused after the preamp of is faulty or the output section might have developed a problem after ...maybe the cable shorted or the amp fell and the board is broken. need a technician to confirm.

Surround problem with Yamaha HTR-5930 5.1 Channels Receiver

The signal that comes from most tv's via the optical output is a stereo signal only. That is what your receiver is reading. You would have to manually set your receiver to decode the signal into surround,.

I have a yamaha RX-V461B AV receiver. I cannot get the the right front speaker channel to work. All the surround and center speakers work. Even when I run the speaker test, no static comes out from that...

There is no setting that would choose one front speaker to work differently than the other. The amp or something in the audio path within the receiver is failing.

Center and surround speakers work, but front right and front left speakers do not put out any sound

I had the same problem. Set the reciever on 6 channel stereo. On this setting, you should be getting the same sound out of each speaker. Isolate which speakers aren't getting sound. Now, on your speaker switch (the A/B button), select A. If that doesn't fix it, select B. If that doesn't fix it, try A and B (if you can on your reciever).

Now, when you switch back to pro-logic, make sure your a/b channel switch is in the position that worked in 6 channel stereo. Yamaha recievers have a memory, and when you switch various modes, it makes auto adjustments based on what you had set in the past.

Hope this helps

No sound coming from reciever from tv

Make sure connections are going-audio out from tv to d-tv/cbl in on back of reciever. Then turn on tv and turn reciever input to d-tv/cbl and make sure the input mode is on auto. Hope this helps you.
