Do wild birds eat out of people's hands?

The exact answer depends on whether you mean the North American puma, or the South American jaguar.

They are both meat eaters primarily, so they would eat small and large rodents, rabbits, deer, pigs, domestic pets, and birds and fish if they can get them.

In the wild they eat foliage, nuts, grains, ferns, flowers, grass and fruit. Favourites are chickweed, dandelion, clover, plantains, asters and sorrel. They love juicy plants, cherries and blackberries. They also readily eat cultivated crops like peas, lettuce, beans, squash, broccoli, corn and soybeans. Fully mature groundhogs can eat a lot of plant matter -- more than a pound daily.

They are not completely herbiverous. They occasionally eat snails, june bugs, grasshoppers and small bird eggs.

If you plan to have one as a pet, be aware it needs a lot of space, will chew everthing in sight, doesn't like cuddling, and will hibernate in winter. In some States they are ******* as pets, so check that. You might also consider having a rabies shot as they can carry that.
