Controls on side don't work
SOURCE: I have an LG 37LC2D LCD TV that is locked.
Bad filters on the main board or a bad AUX REMOTE jack on the back of
the unit (also part of the main board) are the cause of this problem.
Try
plugging in any jack that will fit into the AUX REMOTE jack on the back
and then pulling it back out. This may fix the problem or remove any
dust that may have collected in the jack. If this jack has something
plugged into it (or goes bad) the TV will no longer have remote control
operation (because it thinks an external remote box is being used). If
this does not work then the main board will need replaced.
Note,
many repair techs will think the IR board is bad (the Infra-Red
Receiver board) at the front of the TV, but this is usually not the
case with this model.
Hope this helps, please rate my solution.
SOURCE: my remote control doesn't work for lg tv model #
have you tried and see if the led is flashing wile looking through a camera on a mobile phone ? this will tell if the remote is faulty.
if its not flashing then open up remote and look for bad joints/connections etc.
the most common is around the led sender and the xtal unit.
SOURCE: LG TV no longer responds to the remote control..
I have had the exact same problem with my 47LG70 after 13 months of use. I changed my remote control sensor but it did not help. Before you do that, try something simple which seems irrelevant. On this website, others have posted success by plugging in any standing set of headphones into the remote control or headphone jack on the rear TV panel. This solved my problem. So I proceeded to thoroughly dust all of the input/output component jacks on the rear and side of the TV with an air-can. This solved my problem and I do not need to have the headphones plugged in. So try these two things before changing the sensor.
SOURCE: "volume" and "menu" controls don't
Hello,
The problem is from the control board/panel of the TV. The control/panel is defective or may have loosed contact.
At this point, there is not reset whatsoever that you can do. You just have to disassemble TV, check the board if there is any disconnection. If you don't find any disconnection, then it means the board is defective and needs replacement.
The control board can be located at exactly the same position where the volume, menu, channel, button is located. Its a small flat panel board.
But if you don't know about electronics repairs, call a repairman to help you out.
I hope you understand the above.
Please let me know if you have further questions or clarifications.....
Good luck.
