Honda GX160 firepump runs good than dies starts first pull after and repeats

Old pump little use for its age completely cleaned out and put back together pulled stuff out of the fuel for the first day and now fuel clean it won't run any longer than a minute and will start first pull after it dies there is also no change in sound before it dies

Ensure you have oil filled up to the edge of filer hole where the oil barely drips out then start if she continues to stall remove the yellow wire connected to the oil alert sensor restart the motor while she is running reconnect wire back to the sensor if ahe cuts off replacement on oil alert switch is recommended.

Yep, what Phil said about the oil Level. If it's right, then the wiring or the little control timer box is bad

Check that the fuel tank is venting properly, sounds as though the tank is not venting therefore creating a vacuum that the carburetor cannot over come. Try running the engine with the fuel cap loose to see if that alows the engine to continue to run.

Rebuild the carburetor. Just replace the old gaskets, diaphragms, needle and seat. You can get a rebuild kit from your local lawm mower repair shop. also, don't run last years gas and if you keep gas in the tank over the winter buy a winterizer and pour it in the tank when starts to get cold. Stalls out like out of gas only runs for short time then dies

Clean the air filter out with wd-40, saturate it and just wring it out or use some dish soap and then let it dry out or get as much water out of it as you can. Drain the old gas out and use a little new gas to check the engine while the air filter is off and see if it will start, you may have to cover the intake with a rag to choke it out and suck some gas in there. If it runs re-install the clean air-filter before you operate it for any working.

The Honda GX160 is a single-cylinder multipurpose engine, so it doesn't have a timing belt, fuel filter, or any other wires other than the single spark plug wire and a ground. I'm having the same trouble with my Honda GX160. Spark is good, compression feels a bit lacking though, I haven't measured it. I've heard that the carburetor might be the cause, either needing to be cleaned or replaced as a whole. Dunking it in CLR works wonders, and if that doesn't work, you could probably find a new carburetor pretty cheaply.

My dewalt air compressor with honda gx160 5.5 engine starts runs for 2 secs then dies. then wont start for several pulls. after a minute it will start but then dies again. Ive changed plug, gas cleaned...

Control your OIL level in the honda engine ? take of (beware) for only a short moment your oil alert sensor control to know if the level is correct to reset the sensor and if the engine is running for a short time good connect it again on the working engine to reset. if the level was not correct. Control the fuel hose tank filter , change sparkplug control spark on color and a measure on the switch off connector for some dirth or connection lines or other problems that will connect to massa.

My 1982 Honda v45 will not run without the choke on. It sat in the garage for years with old fuel in the tank. We drained the fuel, changed all the oils, etc and completely REBUILT all 4 carburetors. I...

The slow jets and adjoining passageways are still dirty. As painful as it may be , take the carbs off and clean the slow circuit again or it will never idle. Double check the fuel pump is working properly and the fuel filter is not plugged. One time it took me four cleanings to get all four carbs working on a Suzuki that sat for five years. Also make sure none of the carburetor boots have developed rips from age.

Honda GX160 runs fine for 5 minutes then dies like out of fuel.

I would look for the fuel filter. Blow it our. I know you have a new tank of gas, but you might want to empty it out and make sure the clean and put in new. Even with Stabil in the gas you might just have to much condensation in the tank

My honda gx160 generator keeps cutting out after 2 mins

Sounds like fuel flow is restricted.
Is the vent cap on the gas tank clear?
Pull the fuel hose off at the carb and let run into a container from the tank......is fuel flow good while filling a cup or two worth of fuel?
If not check filter at fuel switch or at hose connection at tank for restriction.
It takes about 2 minutes to use up fuel in the carb with engine running.
Sure sounds like a fuel problem.

Honda powered gx160 model pressure washer wont start

Buy a new plug, drain out all of the old gas and put in new gas, and take a look at the air cleaner. If the air cleaner is dirty replace it. There you now have a good spark, good fuel and good air. The engine should start. If it doesn't get some carberator cleaner spray and some starting fluid spray.
