If it fills and drains then I would suspect the motor coupler is bad, if it's a direct-drive washing machine. Most of them are, kenmore 80 or 90 series.

Kenmore 800 series model: 11029832800 will not rinse or spin. It fills with water and then starts making a humming noise and will not do anything.

What is usually wrong when water will not fill in a new Kenmore elite 800 washer? The spin cycle works but will not fill with water. Washer is only 3 months old.

There's no water at all If there's no water at all, make these checks: Is there water getting to the machine? Is the water-volume selector switch set properly and are the control panel buttons pressed in all the way? If you have a Maytag® washer, is the fuse (if there is one) in the control panel at the lid-switch bracket blown? Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet valve.

hi, Does the water drain out in the spin cycle? Sounds like the coupler might be bad. Is this a top load machine? Asking questions so I can be clear and give you better info on your question.

most likely a water pressure issue try adj shut off valve off slowly until noise stops if water flow not enough ckd fill screens in back of valve for sediment and trash
