Dirty water runs back into washer, moving drum, you hear it.

Discharge hose runs approx. 6 ft from bottom to top where in enters septic system. I don't think I should hear the water swishing when I move the drum after the wash cycle. What can I do to prevent water in hose from running back into washer?

What kind of washer. Most washers will have a balance ring in them. This balance ring has liquid sealed inside it. So you will hear water swishing when you move it.Totally normal. If water is indeed running back into the tub, you need to pull your discharge out of the wall. It should only go in about 2 ft max. Any deeper and you can get syphoning. Dave www.washermd.com

Severe vibration/noise during spin cycle. What could the problem be and how do I fix it?

if the machine was run severely out of balance (rugs) you'll need to get a look in the back up near the top with a good flashlight , this involves unhooking power and hoses and turning it around , you may have broken a drum suspension link , this device (three) keeps the drum from contacting the shell , if its true and its allowed to run this way you will brake off water hoses on bottom of drum and water will runout on floor

Kenmore 2600 TOP LOADER smells like Mildew. I can hear water sloshing around under drum. Is that Normal?

The drain on all washers have this issue. Unless the drain hose runs down hill, when the pump stops, water runs back into the machine that was in the hose but was not drained.

Maytag bravos washer will not complete cycles

Remove clothes from drum. Siphon out (or wet vac out) visible water in the drum. Blow into drain hose. This back flushes the system. After hearing gurgling and seeing bubbles come up thru the drum, you know its a fairly clear line. Now take your wet vac and siphon out remaining water by connecting it to the drain line using duct tape. The lights will correct themselves and your washer will now work normally. At least this is how I fixed mine without disconnecting anything or making a big mess. Good luck.

Drain header is approx 6 ft. high-Will the washer pump push water

Hi there.I would try a load with it at that hieght, fill the machine to its highest water level,if the machine has still got water left in it afterwards then there might be a problem.Let me explain something..Washing machines these days have weak pumps designed with a low velocity, not very powerful.they designed to pump only to a 4 or 5ft head pressure wich is just above the water level height in the machine.most pumps are electric but earlier machines had belt driven pumps running straight from the powerful wash motor.nothing could slow them down.Actually your machine might have the pump directly attached to the motor so your is probably running of the main wash motor..I think you will be fine but try what i said anyway in the beginning.hope this help ya!

My washer fills up, but not inside the machine. If I put the machine on spin, the water drains out. Why won't it fill inside the machine?

The water is going into the machine, but somewhere below the inside drum. I can hear it sloshing around if I move the inside drum. If I put it on the spin cycle, it does not spin, but the water comes out of the hose and into the sink.

Maytag washer

Many of the maytag toploaders have a rubber fill hose at the top of the outer drum.
Sometimes if the machine is fully loaded (or overloaded), during the spin cycle if clothes are above the top of the drum they can actually knock the rubber flange of the hose out of the drum. Then when the machine fills with water, it will dump it down the outside of the tub and it will appear that the water is leaking from the top and side of the drum... Fix it by snapping the fill hose flange back into the hole in the top part of the drum... let me know how you do or need more help...

not a very normal condition you have here, lets try removing hte back cover, behind there on the lower left of the drum youll see a small black rubber hose leading from the top (pressure switch) to a resivour under/on side of tub, remove the hose and chck for clogs, blow though in both directions, i gues its possible that the hose and/or the spot where it connects to may be clogged with soap residue, preventing machine reading that the tub is actuallly empty.blowing through from bottom to the top yopu should here afaint "click" noise. thats the pressure switch activeting(normal) and blowin back down its possible and normal to hear bubbles blowing.

We are renovating our kitchen & last week my husband moved thbe washer. It is taking in water but it then runs straight back out through the outlet hose....please can you help. It is a Hoover washer...

is the hose lower than the tub as this could lead to the water siphoning out due to gravity, the outlet hose standpipe should be at least as high as the top of the drum
