AMI is American Megatrends Inc.

A BIOS program company. (Basic Input/Output System)

AMI po1-ao is one of AMI's BIOS programs.

Used on a LOT of desktop computers, and consequently several different motherboards.

How about the motherboard manufacturer, and model number; or computer manufacturer, and model number? Model number is on the back of the computer next to the Windows product key; or up on the side of the computer tower.

Post back in a Comment.

Going with I think you meant to state MCP61PM-GM, (It's made by ECS. Elitegroup Computer Systems)http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/Sh... "Supports AMD - AM2 Socket - K8; Athlon 64 X2; Athlon 64; Athlon FX; and Sempron processors, under 89 watt power consumption." The AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, requires a Socket AM2+, or Socket AM3.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_AM2%... Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition is Deneb Core. "Four AMD K10 cores" ->http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Phenom_... In My Humble Opinion -> No. Will not work. Regards, joecoolvette

I want a motherboard jumper setting table

You'll need to open the case on your PC; locate the manufacturer name and model number of the motherboard and then use an online search engine by typing in <motherboard> (without the arrows) with the model number. You should be able to find a manual from third party sources or by going to the manufacturer's website to see if the manual is archived.

You can locate the MOBO information at either one of these locations:
  • RAM slots
  • CPU socket
  • or between the PCI slots
MOBO model numbers are usually a collection of numbers and letters between 5 and 7 digits long.

If you have a problem located the model number and manufacturer:

Run the utility; depending on the speed of your processor, it could take seconds or about a minute to pull up the info. <Click> on the mainboard tab, it'll list the manufacturer's name and model number of the MOBO.

A third way to locate MOBO information, Open the <RUN> dialog box from the start menu or by pressing the windows icon key and the letter R simultaneously.

Type <MSinfo32> (without the arrows) and press <enter>

The BIOS ID will be displayed- sometimes manufacturer info and model number will be displayed.

If not, you will be able to determine the BIOS as being either AWARD or AMI (American Megatrends, Inc.); and from there, be able to decode the ID number to a specific manufacturer.

  • AWARD: first five digits indicate the chipset & the following two digits identifies the manufacturer; you'll have to go online and search who that two digit manufacturer is.
  • AMI: the MOBO manufacturer is Identified by the last four digits in the third group of numbers.

Five long beeps at a range of five seconds then, repeats

Five long beeps for a modern motherboards indicates a processor failure. If you wish to remove the processor and re-seat it (reconnect it to see if it begins to work again) make sure to get some thermal compound to put between the CPU chip and the heatsink. More info at: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/How-To-Correctly-Apply-Thermal-Grease/274
POST AMI BIOS beep codes
  • 1 - Memory refresh timer error
  • 2 - Parity error in base memory (first 64 KiB block)
  • 3 - Base memory read/write test error
  • 4 - Mother board timer not operational (check all PSU to MB connectors seated)
  • 5 - Processor failure
  • 6 - 8042 Gate A20 test error (cannot switch to protected mode)
  • 7 - General exception error (processor exception interrupt error)
  • 8 - Display memory error (system video adapter)

A7V400-MX Motherboard: I have changed the processor on my mobo, and I wan...

Based on the user manual starting v.2 dated April 2004, this mobo uses a dip switch array to set your processor and bus speed.
You will need to set the correct processor speed based on manufacturer [AMD] description.
Visit this link and see page 23 to set the switches as needed for your new processor.

Looking for a compatible processor for this mobo

It is impossible to fry a motherboard by using the wrong processor, the board simply won't post. You can use a chart at the ECS website, your motherboard is a Socket A type. Looks like the fastest processor that they have tested is a Athlon XP 3000+.

Computer won't turn on.

This sounds like an overheat problem, is your cooling fan working properly, also the processor you are using is a powerful one, so needs a cooling fan much more powerful than the lesser powered athlon 64 processors.
