SOURCE: LG 50PC3D plasma keeps restarting

Unplug power cord- safety first!
open backcover
check powersupply- top center right is p.s.
top left side of powersupply you'll see 5 capacitor 3300uF 10V.
see any pop up on top? replace it All with same rate or 16v is O.K.
do not use temperature rate 75c. Use 105C.
if you know how to solder. you could save $300 at least!

SOURCE: LG TV 32LB9D VOLUME STUCK AT 100, NO RESPONSE TO REMOTES

The fault may be on the control board. Sometimes the button switches can be stuck, or there may be something causing some conduction on the control circuit board. It is also possible to have a component failure that is causing a continuous command to keep the volume to the high position.

Something that causes failures of controls in TV sets is when people clean the screen, they spray liquid cleaner on the screen. Some of it drips down in to the controls and on to the circuit board. This will usually cause damage, and thus the set will require shop service.

SOURCE: LG 47LC7DF LCD TV Remote Sensor not working

IR senor may not be bad. Try using a different remote (universal) and program to TV. If universal remote works and your doesn't, you may need to purchase a remote instead of IR board. If you confirmed that the IR board is bad then replacing the IR board will fix the remote issue. IR board is an easy fix. Just open the back cover out and it's located right in the middle toward the bottom of the TV.

SOURCE: LG LCD TV won't respond to remote controllers

sparrow00, your fix worked for me, and I think I know why. The 1/8" remote input jack on the back of the TV has electrical contacts inside that are probably there to sense the presence of a plug-in remote. When they detect the insertion of this plug they disable the front panel IR (infrared) receiver and the TV only responds to this plugged-in remote and the buttons on the TV itself. After some period of time these contacts get corroded and the circuit is no longer completed between them. The TV now thinks an external remote is plugged in, and it ignores its own front panel IR receiver.

When you plug a 1/8" plug into this remote socket on the back of the TV it wipes away the corrosion. When you remove the plug the internal contacts conduct properly again and the TV responds to its front panel IR receiver. For best results you should plug a 1/8" headphone plug into this remote jack and twist it a few times, then pull it out and repeat several times. Repeat every frew months or whenever the TV acts up.
Thanks for your solution!

Lg 50pc3d plasma

Procedure is

Step 1: Turn on the device (VCR, DVD, TV, Satellite receiver etc.) you wish to program.
Step 2: Press and hold the "CODE SEARCH" or "SETUP" button on the remote until the indicator light turns on, then release.
Step 3: Press and release the button for the device you are programming (VCR, DVD, TV etc.). For AUX, press AUX button, then the device button you are assigning to AUX. The indicator light will blink then remain lit.
Step 4: Enter the three-digit or four-digit code (depending on your GE remote model) for your device using the number buttons. After your code is entered the indicator light will turn off.
Step 5: Aim the remote at the device you want to control and press the POWER button. Your device should turn off. If your equipment does not respond to the first code listed in the documentation, repeat steps with the next code. If the device responds correctly to other functions like Volume or Program up/down, no further programming is required.
If you can't find a working code for your device or your brand is not listed try the "Code Search" method described below.

The CODE SEARCH function

Step 1: Turn on the equipment you wish to program.
Step 2: Press and hold "CODE SEARCH" or "SETUP" until the light turns on, then release.
Step 3: Press and release the button for the device you are programming (VCR, DVD, TV etc.). The indicator light will blink once, then remain lit. For AUX, press AUX then the device button you are assigning to AUX.
Step 4: Press and release the "POWER" button until your device turns off. Wait at least two seconds between each time you press "POWER". Note that you may have to press "POWER" up to 250 times!
Step 5: When your device turns off press the "ENTER" or "SAVE" button. The indicator light will turn off. Check other functions to see if your code is correct.

Lg plasma menu screen wont go away

The exit button on the remote may not be working or some other button on the remote is jammed. Try removing the battery of the remote and switch off the TV manually and the input power. Wait for a few minutes and then switch on the TV manually. The try changing the menu from the TV control panel. If nothing works, this is a case to be handled by a qualified service technician.

My remote control stops working every few months or so, then starts working again. My warranty goes out this month. Just have a service call and the tech left me another remote, but I'm afraid this will...

The remote interface of the TV died on mine, it was intermittent then it stopped completely. Remote control is fine, it's the remote sensor in the TV itself.

Neither the tv remote, or my logitech harmony remote that I usually use control the tv at all

HI.

Point your remote at a digital camera or cell phone cam, and press some buttons. the LED on the remote should light up on the screen, indicating that an IR command is being sent.

If the remote does not light up, then the problem is a broken remote. If it does light up, then I think your TV's IR receiver may be damaged.

Hope that was able to help you diagnose the problem!

My lg 50pc3d remote will not control the tv. the remote works for other devices.

Take it to a local retail store that sells LG and see if it works there on a set . If it does then you have an issue with the set. If it doesn't then replace the remote, if under warranty, call LG for a replacement remote.

My remote will not perform any functions with the Plasma TV. No Volume, Channel, Input, TV (off/on) etc.

If you have fresh batteries in your remote and its still not working, then try another remote and if you can't get another remote to work with the TV then you know its not a remote problem and its more then likely a problem with the IR sensor in the Plasma TV.

If thats your case after doing your troubleshooting then see if your Pioneer Plasma tv is under warranty, if it is contact Pioneer to get the TV covered under warranty. If its not then you would need to contact Pioneer to get the part # for the IR sensor on the plasma tv.

Then depending on price you can buy it from them or do a search on google to find the best price for the IR Sensor.

LG 42LC2D not responded to remote

The IR sensor is in fact a "plug in device" .
The TV will have to be disassembled to replace the sensor.

You should make sure the remote is functioning before you do anything as drastic as taking your tv apart.

I am sure you have tried fresh batteries so the next step would be to hold down any button on the remote, the led light should have a faint pulse, it may be hard to see and you may have to go in a dark room but the led will pulse if the remote is good.

If you have a universal remote, program it for your tv and test functionality.

An RCA universal remote will work with your tv, if the codes don't work do a search with the remote.

If you decide to replace the sensor you should be able to find one at http://www.shopjimmy.com or http://partstore.com.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Please rate this solution, the only compensation I receive is a good rating from you.
