Hey so I have encountered a similar problem the last two times I had to replace the bulb. The red light becomes solid and then the green blinks I think 8-9 times and continues to cycle. I talked to somebody at toshiba (had to talk to several ppl) and finally FOUND A SOLUTION. (though be warned my tv stopped working after a day and I had to repeate it). Okay do the following; instructions to reset the bulb timer 1. remove the bulb 2. place the cover back on 3. plug the tv into the outlet 4. press the power buttom for 30 seconds 5. turn off the tv 6. press the power button again for 30 seconds 7. turn off the tv 8. unplug the tv 9. place the bulb in. 10. place the cover on . 11. plug the tv in 12. turn on tv.

Here is some useful information off of the manufacturer's product information PDF regarding the lamp problems/issues: LED indications: The green and red LED lights on the TV control touchpad (on the lower right corner of the TV screen)indicate the TV?s current status, as follows: ? Green ON = Control touchpad being pressed. ? Red ON = Power ON. ? Green and/or Red blinking 35) Special care for D LPTM (digital light processing) units: ? Lamp? The lamp in this product has a limited service life. The length of service life varies depending on product use or user settings. If you use the lamp beyond its service life: - you may notice a reduction in the colors and/or brightness of the picture, at which time you should replace the lamp unit; and - the strength of the quar tz glass in the lamp will be reduced and the lamp may rupture. If the lamp ruptures, the TV will not operate until the lamp unit is replaced. Here is more info: LED Indication Condition Solution: 1) Green lights solid; Red blinks at 0.5-second intervals. 2) Green blinks at 0.3-second intervals; Red lights solid. 3) Green and Red blink at 1-second intervals. 4) Green is off; Red blinks. 5) Green and Red blink three times. The lamp unit door is not seated properly. The lamp is not working properly. The lamp is not working properly after the eighth automatic restart (see item#2). For service personnel only. An abnormal temperature increase has occurred. Turn the POWER OFF and unplug the power cord. We have a 2007 Sony Bravia 46" KDL-46VL130. There is not sound or picture. When we power it on the green light comes on blinking once and then the red light blinking once and then the green light stays on....

Does the front light stays green ? Or goes back to red ? The back-light going on/off maybe the problem, but it shoul return with a red blinking led (4 times ?) and if so it can be a power inverter problem.

Red/green lights both blink and tv will on turn on

Are the red and green lights blinking at the same rate or not? If the green light is blinking every 3 seconds and the red light is blinking every 1/2 second, the lamp door is not properly secured. If both lights are blinking at 1 second intervals, try replacing the lamp. If a new lamp doesn't solve the problem, the TV needs service.

I hope this helps.

The screen went blank and green light started flashing. Turned off the TV and let it cool. Turned it back on, getting sound but no picture. Red light is on, after about 15 seconds the green light blinks...

Since you say that there is sound but no picture, the first thing I would check would be the status of the lamp. I believe that the lamp has been shattered or the filament is blown. Please verify this and let me know

My Sony KP-46WT500 screen shows the tv image in blue only for a few seconds, then it goes completely blank (as if it were off). Do I need to replace the bulbs?

It is rear projection TV that use 3 picture tubes of red-green-blue to show color picture on tv front screen.
Do you see standby red light blinking when TV shuts off after showing blue image for a while?
If red standby light is blinking, please count it how many times it blinks, there would be 3 seconds pause between blinks so count pause to pause and post it here to find out possible solution.
Thanks.
