SOURCE: Jet 3 Ultra won't charge

You can find the Fuse behind the foot rest. Take the pin located under the foot rest, and the casing will come off exposing the fuse.

SOURCE: jet 3 ultra 3 Flashes The left motor has a short

Bad news; probably a short in the primary for the motor. This usually happens when the chair has been driven over unstable terrain, like wet, soggy grass and it bogs down in the muck. Driving it out while seated causes over-amping on the motors as they try to compensate for slipping, etc, and a motor will fry or a fuse will blow, or wiring harness will cook. You can replace the motor gear assembly for about $900.00, or try taking the motor to a rebuilder and have it rewound, which runs a couple hundred and the motor is like new again. Jack the left side up, remove the left wheel (make sure you save the key that fits in the slot on the axle! They get lost easy). unplug the motor and remove the 6 bolts holding the motor to the frame, disconnect the shift mechanism and the motor is free. separate the motor from the gear box and take the motor into the shop, reinstall and test run it. If the gearbox wasn't damaged, it should be good as new.

Good luck

Hi. The fault code you have is called the "Inhibit active".
It can be caused by a blown charger fuse, which causes the charger inhibit to activate.
Also if the 3-pin charger inhibit connector is not plugged in properly, or the connector is faulty, then the charger inhibit feature will activate.
Hope this helps. Neil.

Pride Jazzy Jet 3 Ultra Electric Wheelchair. Fuse keeps blowing I was given a Jet 3 Ultra for my mom .. I bought new batteries and installed them.. charged them over night ..

Question edited for clarity.

You have a dead short somewhere. You need some electrical knowledge and a digital multimeter for testing. Take all the covers off. Look for wiring that has rubbed through and touching or melted. Disconnect one of the motors and replace the fuse. If it still blows, reconnect that one and disconnect the other motor. If one motor doesn't blow and the other does, you know you have a faulty motor. If neither stop the issue, then you move up to the controller and look up there. With a meter you can check for shorts within the motors, as well as grounds.

Or just take it to a Service Centre and have it repaired and serviced properly.

My Jet 7 is going really slow even when I changed the battery.

Mine is a jet3 ultra and I had this problem a few weeks ago and I thought it might be the batteries.
Turned out that the connection at the control arm was quite dirty.
Once cleaned it works OK ... you could try that.

How do I replace the batteries on 2005 pride mobility jet ultra 3?

Because liability issues and I do not know your mechanical ability or your limitations, this is only a recommendation.
1.remove seat
2. remove body
(be careful to the joy stick and its cable)
3. mark battery cable
4. take batteries to a wheelchair supply company
(wheelchair supply company will order correct batteries. DO NOT GET BATTERIES FOR CARS OR MOTORCYCLES. THEY WILL BLOW UP they MAKE explosive hydrogen gas)
5. reconnect cables to batteries
6. make sure there is a gap between the batteries for cooling
7. visually inspect that all cables are not going to get pinched,
8.covered up cables with the battery cable covers over
9. reassemble wheelchair making sure electrical cables are not rubbing or pinched. use zip ties to help, but not too tight because they can dig into cables.
I would take it to a wheelchair repair company because of fire hazard of doing this. Do this at your own risk

Invacare MKIV R11 Flashing lights

One of the most common controllers, codes to help you and others.

powerc24.jpgpowerc25.jpg

VSI & VR2 Joystick error flash codes:
1 RED BAR:
Low Battery Voltage The battery is flat (more likely).
Or the battery has a bad connection (which is unlikely)
2 RED BARS: Left Motor Disconnected The left motor is disconnected. Check all the connections for physical disconnection or corrosion or burning usually caused by the salt poured onto the roads every winter.
3 RED BARS: Left Motor Wiring Trip The left motors wiring has a short circuit. Check all connections and leads for wear and chafing between the left motor and the battery cables or chassis
4 BARS: Right Motor Disconnected The right motor is disconnected. Check all the connections for physical disconnection or corrosion or burning usually caused by the salt poured onto the roads every winter.
5 BARS: Right Motor Wiring Trip The right motors wiring has a short circuit. Check all connections and leads for wear and chafing between the right motor and the battery cables or chassis
6 BARS: Activated if you turn on your wheelchair with an external device like the Charger still connected.
7 BARS: Possible Joystick Trip, Make sure that the joystick is in the centre position before switching on. If you still get this when switching on then joystick is probably faulty.
8 BARS: A control system trip. Make sure that all connections are secure and if so the power module or control pod is probably faulty. Test by substitution of known good one.
9 BARS: The parking brakes have a bad connection or have a failed solenoid, or any lever or switches that disconnect drive for pushing the chair manually may be pulled or switched.
10 BARS: Over voltage detected. This can happen with a bad battery connection although unlikely. More likely your battery charger is faulty and is overcharging your batteries quite severely.
1 BAR to 10 BARS and back in a "ripple" every few seconds. Joystick not cantered when turned on. Switch off and try again.
1 BAR to 6 FLASH every few seconds. System Asleep. Switch off and back on. Time before sleep can be adjusted or disabled in programming

Hope this helps, If so please click the "Yes" button

This 8-light code is a joystick controller problem. It is an internal problem with the circuit board located inside the joystick. The entire joystick assembly would need to be replaced in this situation. If you are in need of a joystick, I have several for sale.
