Problems loading/deleting music on Sansa e250

I've been having problems with my Sansa e250 for pretty much three weeks. I encounter problems when trying to remove music, usually errors saying that the device has been disconnected or is no longer responding, despite the fact that it is clearly still connected. Since these started popping up, I can't seem to sync my player with Windows Media player for more than a few songs before it restarts itself and those few songs then don't appear on the device. I'm quite frustrated with this device, it came with no software cd, which is why I'm using Windows Media Player to try and transfer songs, and I really don't know what I can do to fix the problem.

SOURCE: Sansa e260 video question...

You need to use the sansa media converter program that came with the sansa on the CD. This is used for photos and for video. The supported files are listed on the screen once you open it.

Help no installation cd

No installation CD is required with the E250. I use Windows Media Player to catalog my music and load it to my MP3 player. It works pretty well with the Sansa.

I accidentaly sinc music to my sansa e250 from windows media player and it wont come off!!!

Mp3 files can be loaded using either WMP or Windows file manager (Explorer) but a different USB setting is required by each. WMP uses the MTP setting while Explorer uses MSC. If you used the wrong setting this may have caused your problem. Also for some reason MP3 files loaded using a file manager will not appear when trying to view them using WMP. To solve the issue I used the MSC setting to view all of my MP3's using file manager. I then deleted the ones I had recently added, changed the setting back to MTP and reloaded them using WMP. Worked like a charm. Hope that helps.

Deleting files from Sansa e250

The only way I know to delete music files or voice or FM recordings, is straight from the User's manual on the CD: 1. Set the e250 to MSC mode. 2. Plug it in to your computer with the USB connector. 3. Open the Sansa e250 drive in My Computer and browse to the MUSIC folder (or RECORD folder)and delete the files there. (That's where you also add music files, by dragging from other explorer windows.) To delete (or add) photo and video files, you have to use the Media Converter, which you install from the disk that came with the e250.

Not leaving anytime soon...

Although you have excellent virus protection it is a virus. But there is a solution, if you go to mcafee.com you can download a program "stinger" it's free so don't worry. Run the program with your Sansa in MSC USB mode otherwise Stinger will not recognize the Sansa in a directory. Now, When You add Directories do not take off your C drive because your music files might have the virus this program removes them without removing your music files. PS: I also Defraged and formatted my Sansa, not sure if its neccessary.
