Phone cannot connect to network

My phone cannot connect. it says not registered on network. what is the problem?

    go to settings; wireless and networks; mobile networks; network operators; click on preferred network. hope this helps

Hoe do I activate my new sim card

Put the sim card into the SIM slot of your phone and turn ON the phone. After some time, it will register with the network. You have nothing to do other than that.

hi..........
switch off your phone, re-insert your sim card, switch on the phone.
go to settings, go to network selection option . now search for networks. select your network and thats it.
