Kenmore 70 Series Washer

Model #110, Serial #CE192441: It got off-balanced during the rinse cycle (wet towels, of course), danced around & made a bunch of noise, then stopped. As is standard, I opened the machine, rearranged the wet load, closed the lid & pulled the knob to the on position. This is typically all it takes & the machine will continue through the spin cycle. Not so much. The machine is now full of water, with the same load in it, & refuses to go into the spin cycle & drain. HELP! The other cycles work fine, so it isn't a tripped switch. I'm looking for a DIAGRAM that can walk me through how to fix it. I don't even know how to take the machine apart!

I have the save problem. The washer will not drain or spin. The agitate does work.

I have the exact same washer. Mine goes through all the cycles but despite the fact that it spins and drains, the clothes are left soaking wet. I have to wring them out before putting them in the dryer. It is so frustrating~

I turn the cycle selector knob to any position and pull it to start the machine to load water and the machine will not start

You probably have a bad lid switch.

I have a Kenmore 70 series Washing machine top load model 110 serial number 82870120 . where is the lint trap located and how to take out to clean? clothes have a lot of lint after being washed.

It is likely that a tissue or paper product was included with the wash load. The series 70 does not have a lint trap. At the hose connection to the house drain lint has been known to build up restricting the emptying. This buildup would not introduce lint into the washer.

If the water temperature is very very cold and you use powder detergent it will not dissolve completely into the water and will leave a white residue on the fabrics.

Try running a short load in the washer allowing for ample water to rinse out the machine before the next wash load.

Kenmore series 70 fills with water on rise cycle but stops halfway throught then starts agian and finishes is this normal

If this has always stopped during the rinse cycle, most likely it's the "cool down" part of the rinse cycle.

See the following Sears site for manuals. Enter your model number and you should be able to download the proper manual for your washer.

What is the date of manufacturing based on the serial number of my Kenmore 70 series washer?

Tyler,
It came off of the Clyde, OH production line the 26'th week of 2001.

Amazing, ain't it? Seriously... the info is embedded in the serial number. Here's the link to the code sheet.

Kenmore washer series 70 shakes wildly during spin during cycle

I have the same kenmore and have experience this before. It is unbalanced. Get a spirit level to check for balance. To rebalance, empty the washer (so it's not heavy), lean over the washer and grab the back, tilt it forward and the auto balancing legs should reposition themselves. Re-check for balance using the spirit level. If still out, adjust the front feet of the washer by screwing the legs up or down (using a wrench). This will cure the problem (unless you have a very unbalanced load of towels for instance). Good luck
