Hi, we have a Ryobi 1341 mitre saw and we cannot get the saw blade off. Any suggestions??
There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.
I had same problem with my Delta mire saw. By the time I finally figured out the retaining bolt was reverse thread it was on too tight, so I used my impact wrench to remove it in a clockwise direction.
Usually there is a piece of metal around the motor you use to lock the motor by pushing it in then you can use a wrench to loosen the bolt holding the blade on. make sure you put the new blade in the same way the old one is.
Many electric MITER saws have the pin to lock the motor but the bolt holding the blade on is REVERSE threaded - so think the opposite - to loosen - think tighten. This is true for some circular saws and lawn mowers but not all so be careful not to break the bolts off. Most TABLE saws do not have a locking pin they usually come with a thin wrench to grab a plate on one side of the blade and the nut is on the other. They too can be reverse threaded.

I'm having the same issue with my reconditioned ryobi compound miter saw. I am turning the bolt in the correct direction (clockwise) and it seems to be welded onto the darn blade. Anyone figure out how to loosen this thing?
I've never worried about finding an internal locking device.
Just put a block of wood behind the fence, pull the saw down so the blade bites the wood, and with the correct size socket or box end wrench, lift (clockwise) to remove the nut that secures the blade.
Put the piece of wood in front of the fence when tightening the nut.
