My iron exploded when I plugged it in. How can it be fixed?

Is it older than a year as that is the warranty on steam irons.

Have you ever descaled it? It may improve the seals on the buttons. If something has broken inside, it will be time for a new one. Getting inside them is very hard and there are no spares.

There are a few things you can try to fix your Rival Shot Of Steam Iron ES280 if the indicator light is not coming on and it is not heating up:

Bit more information would be handy? whats wrong with the plug? is there just no power going to the iron? have you tried replacing the fuse? have you tried taking the wires out and making sure there is a strong connection between the wires and the screws? if your iron isnt turning on it may not even be a problem with the plug. it could be an issue with the motherboard in the iron

U got a busted thermal fuse or the thermostat switch is not functioning.

If u have a knowhow in replacing and adjusting the thermal switch, u could fix it by urself!

Better check also the power cord, mostly flat irons main prob, if there are no lights on ur iron, it means internal probs!

Better take that iron in ur friendly hungry technician to fix that!

I don't think you can recover the iron. You could try to return the item !!!! but I don;t think that you will have much luck because of the incorrect descaling
