There is likely a switch operated by a float to turn that light on and turn off the compressor, sometimes manufactures use a rubber "O" ring on the float shaft and they can slip. take the cover off the pump and check the float or in some cases one of two floats are used. Once float turns the pump on and off and the second float shuts OFF the compressor and turns ON the full reservior light.

Hi,
Here is a tip that explains what can be happening to make the dehumidifier show that the bucket is full when it is not.

Try resetting the bucket, making sure that it is set properly and triggers the safety lever/switch. If that doesn't solve the problem. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF, unplug the unit from the wall outlet and wait 12-15 minutes. Plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. If the bucket is installed properly, the unit should revert back to the original factory settings.
Hope this helps solve the problem.

Look at the picture in the upper right corner of page 12. The RED button is located in the upper left rear of the bucket cavity.
It may be jammed. Tap on it to make sure it moves freely. It must be pressed IN to indicate NOT FULL and allow operation. You should hear a click when it changes state and the light should go on and off. The weight of the float in the bucket presses it in until the water level rises.
