Fischer Scientific AB15 -- Unable to calibrate or take any readings.

It will only read 20.00 or -2.00 on the pH setting. Occasionally it will read other values that appear correct, but only for a split second before jumping wildly and then resolving to -2 or 20. Following procedures to run calibration are unsuccessful. Using electrode 13-620-531. Will take temperature accurately. I would hate to track down a new electrode if there is a simple solution I'm overlooking. (I tested the meter by capping the electrode input and checking the voltage, which was accurately 0). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The electrode you have is a combination electrode with an integral calomel reference half-cell and built-in temperature probe. Since the temperature reading is good, the temperature probe is okay. It isn't part of the pH circuits anyway. (Your meter uses the temperature to calculate a temperature correction of pH.) Something else is going on with the electrode proper. Its funny behavior suggests to me that it has dried out internally.
pH electrodes don't last forever. How old is this one? If it's an old one, it's probably time to replace it. If it's new and doesn't work, it may be under warranty.
If you shop for a new electrode, get a gel-filled one. And go for one with a silver/silver chloride reference instead of a mercury one -- especially if you are using it on food or other samples that may be consumed. Another consideration about calomel electrodes: they take hours to recover from relatively small temperature changes. Ag/AgCl references aren't as sluggish.
Finally, take care when storing the electrode. It should be stored under humid conditions to keep it from drying out. The best way is to put a small piece of cotton or glass wool soaked with distilled or deionized water inside the plastic end cap. For shorter-term storage, e.g., overnight, you could immerse the tip in pH 7 buffer.

SOURCE: Maytag oven needs temp calibration

Take your temp knob off and look in the center of the stem and you should find a small set screw. Using a small precision screwdriver, turn the screw until you see the light come on. (You won't have to turn it far.) Turn it a little at a time, maybe a 1/16 of a turn. Leave your thermometer in the oven with the door closed and at or near the temp probe that is in the oven. This way, you are getting a true reading.

My acurite 00509 has stopped giving me the correct temp reading. I've put another temp gauge next to it and acurite shows 78* and my othergauge shows 72*. Do I need to return it or what ? Thanks

The indoor temperature and humidity and outdoor temperature readings can be calibrated on the display to improve accuracy. Calibration can improve accuracy when sensor placement or environmental factors impact your data accuracy. 1. To access calibration mode, press AND HOLD the "?", "?", and "SET" buttons for at least 5 seconds. 2. Once in calibration mode, the preference you are currently setting will be highlighted on the display. 3. Press the "?" or "?" buttons to calibrate the data value higher or lower from the actual reading. 4. Press the "SET" button to confirm the calibration adjustment. The " " icon will remain illuminated next to calibrated values. 5. The next adjustable data will begin flashing, indicating it is ready to be calibrated. Repeat Steps 1 - 4 to calibrate additional data. The preference set order is as follows: OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE INDOOR TEMPERATURE INDOOR HUMIDITY BAROMETRIC PRESSURE (must be set to MANUAL mode; see page 12) After 20 seconds of inactivity, the display will save the adjustments and exit calibration mode. Note: Calibrations will be erased if the display is reset or if batteries are removed and the power adapter is unplugged.

I have a bilirubin count of over 600 is this dangerous I am 65 years old

You don't say what units this reading is in. Published info says a normal reading for bilirubin is 0.2 to 1.2 mg/dL so it looks odd.

In any case the best person to ask is your doctor, who will interpret this in relation to your other meds, weight, lifestyle etc.

Need the resistance VS temperature table for the 15-077-8 probe

google it RTD to temp

this will not tell you if probe is reading correctly, display is just converter and calculator, probe is the one that measures and supplies result. If you have 3458A you have access to lab equipment and should ask someone how to calibrate this

I appreciate your post, Ronald!

From the information you have provided you would like to calibrate the oven temperature on your Frigidaire range. I was unable to locate any instructions on how to perform a calibration on your oven. I would recommend consulting with a professional technician for proper calibration of your range. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Haw do i calibrate metller toledo mp220 ph metter

1ST YOUR GONNA NEED BUFFERS:

All pH meters require calibration standards to ensure that the readings are traceable to a standard. Always choose a pH 7 buffer plus at least one other pH value close to your expected measurement range. Using solutions of known pH value allow you to adjust the system to read accurate measurements. Calibration should be performed before each reading or each set of readings.
After that this model has auto buffer select and it will tell You what buffer you put it in , also will ask if you want to correct it as well

Unable to cancel min. wind chill reading wnen current display reads NA; thus 5C still shows from a day in April!

There is a reset button on each sensor unit and there is a reset on the base display. The NA means that the signal is not being sensed from the remote. If you use the reset button on the base you will lose all the historical data. The problem may be related to strong interference from something else nearby, You can bring the sensor inside to see if the base picks it up. IF it does not it may need to be replaced. I have dealt with Oregon Scientific before and they are very good with their support. http://www.oregonscientificstore.com/WMR86A-Oregon-Scientific-Backyard-Pro-Wireless-Weather-Station.product
