Plasma TV problem - My Plasma tv is having a serious problem. Suddenly the Red color is no longer Red but Orange. The picture looks much worse now. I know it may sound like the set was getting old but I only had this set for less than a year so I don't think it's wear and tear. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I was thinking that it might just require dusting up. Should I open it to clean inside? Please advise. Thanks, D.

Thanks but unfortunately the Plasma was bought in a different country and I couldn't convince the local dealer to accept it.
Any other ideas to solve my plasma tv problem?

I'd hate to throw it away...

    Kegtapper, thanks for the advice.
I tried your suggestion but the Plasma tv is still having that color problem.
Although I do think that the Red color is a bit stronger now.

Any other ideas before I toss the TV away?

My Panasonic TH50PX60U 50" Plasma 18 months old has a thin black horizontal line couple of inches from the bottom displayed permanently. This appeared about atwo months ago. Panel warranty is good for two years. Know what this is?

I am claiming factory defect. May have to go to small claims court if no satisfactory resolution is reached - the only American way.

i was watching my 42" plasma and the color just went really dark. i still have picture but its been that way since. ive only had it about a year and a half. and when i turn the tv on now the display slowing comes on from black. it kinda fades from the inside of the screen to the outside until the picture is full and it continues to stay dark.

Try checking the cable making sure they are tightly plugged in. My dads Plasma screen started showing orange / brown colors in place of primary red... he had been moving things around and didnt realize the wires were loosened in the process. This made him realize.... GET an HDMI and get rid of all the other cables......

Another suggestion: go to the main menu and do a factory reset. Then scan/add channels again

If the TV is still under warranty I would call Panasonic or the retailer you purchased it from before opening anything up on it.

Picture suddenly has vertical colored lines with no clear picture

That happened to my new plasma TV 30 days after i bought it and the TV repair guy came an fixed it and i saw what he did and he told me that there are 3 circuit boards in back of TV and each one controls their areas, center circuit board was controlling the center screen of my TV which was where the lines were so he replaced it and the lines were gone. this board are usually on the bottom part of the TV and they look alike but they are not due to the connection location., i hoe this help

Panasonic plasma

If you open the back, look at the can shaped items. If any of them have the tops bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should solve your picture problem, unless there is something else wrong. What is happening,is they are heating up,and the picture goes out.I bet the longer you have the TV off,the longer it stays on?Hope this helps.Thank You very much! Too much green color

Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.

The TV should be under warranty. Send back. Sounds like the panel is faulty (half the value of the set).
