Jm300 parts I am trying to find a part on the web. t is the plastic bowl that is under the mesh basket. It has been 'sticking' to the machine since day one. It has finally broken and every site I link to is just another list of suppliers. I click parts and I get a whole juicer. I even got bras before the juicer was listed. Help!! I just bought a lot of fresh food that needs to be juiced and I can't afford a new one cuz if I did, it would NOT be a juiceman. BTW the picture of a 3 legged table with "salton JM300 700 watts juicer' next to it and just below this box is the type of $%#* I am talking about.

I am trying to disassemble. I have done it many times, but the basket won't come off the base this time. I have poured hot soapy water through in forward and reverse. Not working

Many times when juicing very fibourous produce the bowl(basket) can get stuck and you can loosen it by gently tapping on the pulp spout or juice spout to the counter clockwise motion(right), this will loosen the bowl.

I cannot get the mesh basket off it is stuck fast

If you can, soak the mesh basket in some hot water, boiling if possible. Many times this will break up residue

How do you open the acme juicerator to clean out the extract

I have a 1962 manual which might be too old but here's what it says: When juicing is completed, simply remove the spring-clamp top, unscrew the wing nut or spring clutch that holds down the cutter blade, and all parts to be cleaned may be lifted from the base. Bowl and top, being non-porous, similar to glass, require only rinsing. Blade should be washed under running water, using a stiff brush. Since the basket is made of stainless steel, it, too, cleans easily. After taking out the the pulp, let cold water run on the outside of the basket while you brush the perforated section. Any remaining particles of pulp will be loosened and can be removed with a damp sponge or by rinsing. Dry and reassemble for next use. Turn machine on and let run a few seconds.
Hope this is of some help.

How do you take it apart to clean it ?

It's really easy, you take down the metal bar and the top comes off, then you should see the orange mesh basket which is removed using your little tool - it's like a key which you turn to remove the basket - rinse under the tap - piece of cake.

HOw do i clean it?

flip down the lever to pull it all apart.

rinse out the lid, food pusher and base(that the mesh filter sits in).

scrub out the mesh filter with a dish brush or the included brush if you have it. be carefull the grater-like parts at the base are very sharp. make sure it's clean by holding it up to the light. if there are any particles left clinging to the mesh it will seriously interfere with the effectiveness of your juicing.

you can line the pulp collecting jug with a plastic bag so that you dont have to clean that out as well.

it's best to clean everything immediately. if for some reason you can't, at least rinse the plastic parts and leave the mesh basket to soak until you can get back to it.

if you have any dried food or staining on any of the parts then a soak in water with lemon juice in it (maybe the juice of 3 or 4 lemons) should help soften up particles and strip away stains.

hope this helps....

Do not know how to remove basket

(1) Remove the food plunger and top cover; (2) unscrew the 3 screws from the blade/cutter plate and lift it off its base; (3) Unscrew the plastic base COUNTERWISE and lift it off of the center spindle; (4) Now you can remove the basket and juice bowl for cleaning.

To reassemble, reverse the process.

HOw do I get the metal filter off, I can't remember and I cannot find my book

The crescent tool has two protruding metal “nubs”. After you open the juicer so you can see the mesh basket that turns around, and a flat grating disc that has two holes that match those nubs. Insert the nubs into the holes and turn counter-clockwise to loosen the disc. (you’ll have to hold the plastic edge of the mesh basket so it doesn’t turn). Once it’s loose, keep turning it until it comes off. You can then remove the disc, the basket and part containing the spout to clean them. Just reverse the process to remount the parts, making sure not to overtighten the disc.

Cleaning a Mesh Filter on my Juicer

The stiff brush that came with mine has worked well for me. Have you tried a fingernail brush or maybe some canned air?
