I have a lg refrigerator, and it shows Er IF , it would run for a few minutes and stop, then i unplug it and plug it back and start running again.
LG refrigerator "Er IF" error code is the "Icemaker Fan Error" message.T his error code indicates a problem with the fan that controls the unit's ice production. just called in a sears technician 150 dollar bill that was an easy fix. he says my bottom freezer kenmore fridge with warm fridge problem was due to the pathway being blocked by ice and garbage which is common with these fridges. he took off cover from the fridge bottom and poured boiling water down to the freezer. try that before you replace any parts or call in a tech.

Check and clean the condenser. Unplugging the system allows it to cool off. when you plug it back in it will cool until the heat rebuilds if not rejected through the condenser. Make sure the condenser fan comes on when the compressor runs. A faulty fan motor will cause the same type of problem.

it the def t-stat, def. thermistor, or def. fuse whatever lg decides to call it this week that is causing your issue

ok if unit is under 1 year old call a tech because you might need a new motor fan and new main board . make sure you out let is properly grounded
