WM2277HW LG Tromm washing machine won't start. An appliance repair man said it was the Main Control Board. He also said I should replace the Display (interface) board at the same time. The cost of the repair is $585, so we decided to fix it ourselves. We ordered the parts with the help of a parts specialist. Well the parts were not the right ones. A little frustrating, not having a working washing machine. Well I think I've figured out what part numbers I need. So part number 6871ER2078A DOES NOT FIT, but part "6871EC1116A" does fit! (That is the display board). Part number 6871ER1078T DOES NOT FIT. I think the replacement part "6871ER1003C" will work, after searching the internet and looking at images of the part, though it is not the exact same one as in our machine now. Why do parts say they will fit in our model of washing machine, and then NOT fit? I am sure I am not the first person to order the "supposed" correct part only to find it doesn't work with the wiring connectors. Sigh. By the way, my LG washing machine was built in 2002.

sorry to say it but i think you still have a faulty hall sensor.
Try another one and send the last one back as being faulty.
It means the motor gets the power but the hall sensor stops it dead in its track

It sounds like you have a hall sensor failure, if your machine fills with water and then does the buzz thing without the drum ever moving in the cycle.
The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
