The printer is making a terrible noise and chewing up paper every time I try to print or scan. When I remove he back and pull it out the paper is scrunched into tight one -centimetre folds like a folded fan. It does this every time I remove the cartridge, open the back, pull out the paper and start again.
SOURCE: paper jamed
Sounds like the fuser is causing the jam. Anything from a dislocated pic finger to other paper debry can be causing these types of jams.
If you open the back door, will the page exit the printer fine of does it still jam?
If it still jams the fuser is definatly the problem. If it dosen't, then it might be the delivery assembly causing the jam.
You might be able to see where the jam is happening if you print something and watch it though the back to see where the paper catches and jams.

SOURCE: My printer folds the paper in the back accordian
check the drum unit and toner unit, also check on all rolls inside the printer.
if still not working you can send it to me to fix it for you.
The paper is not feeding from the paper tray. The loud click is alarming, but not the problem. Check the adjustments in the paper tray. The left and right guides should be snug, but the rear guide should give between a 1/16 inch and a 1/8 inch of free play. If the rear guide is tight, that is the problem. You can check for this by depressing the lever on the right front of the tray. Depressing the lever should raise the stack of paper out of the tray so that it can slide forward.
If you remove the paper from the tray, but will see calibration marks for the paper size you are using. Unlock the read paper guide n the tray, squeeze the release and move the guide ot the mark for the size paper you are using. For example, it you are using letter size paper, the read guide should point to "LTR".
