My daughter accidentally knocked over her Butterscotch Pony. Now, when his head turns to the left, his mouth opens, and ears twitch, he neighs - well, it is just a half of a neigh - like a broken record. I can hear something clicking or grinding - something must be getting stuck.
Any ideas on what to do?
Another problem on my son's pony - the tail doesn't move. Can I fix it? He must have been too rough or turned it too far.
I had the exact same problem, and all I did was replace the batteries. It worked right again! I just knew the kids had broken the neck of it. It sort of slings to the left and neighs over and over again. BATTERY ISSUE :) The instruction manual should tell the consumer this. Hope this helps!
Well, I can't tell you how to fix your problem but I do think I can tell you what's wrong. Inside It's head it probably has potentiometers (If you don't know what these are they are the volume knobs on stereos; the further you turn them, the more electricity they allow to flow through them). As the motors move the head the potentiometers also move and the control circuit board senses how much electricity is passing through the potentiometers. It is probably programmed to move the motors inside the head until a certain amount of electricity is allowed to pass through the potentiometers. If there is something wrong with either the potentiometer or the control circuit then it might not be reading the potentiometer properly and waiting with the motor turned on for an input (from the potentiometer) that it will never be able to achieve.
What the horse is probably programmed to do:
Activate motor A -----> Wait until signal is received -----> Activate motor B
The neigh probably lasts for the entire length of this. So when it gets stuck waiting for the signal, it stops the neigh until it gets around to activating motor B.
As for the tail, I'm not sure.

The zipper is covered by a cosmetic snap so that it's invisible. You need to locate the hard roundish cover and press down on it to release the zipper. Once unzipped, you can lift the fabric almost up to the ears but enough to see if something broke. Since replacement parts aren't available, you'll probably need a really good plastic epoxy to repair the part. The zipper cover is hard to find, I completely agree with you. But it's there and if you think finding it is tough, wait til you get to reconnect it to zip it back up :)

Thanks for trying! I changed the batteries, but that didn't help. I think she must have broken something. I just can't get the zipper open on the neck to take a look inside.
Any more ideas?

my friend knocked my pony over and was being really rough with the head and the next day its head would go to the left and it was unresponsive and it just moved its ear back and forth and neighed over and over agin but it was a scratchy neigh and it sounds like there are gears grinding in its neck........:(
Have the same problem - put in new batteries, but no dice. :(
