LG had a problem with the control board going bad allowing the interior lights to stay on even when doors are closed. you need to get in touch with LG concerning repair MY UNDERSTANDING is there is a safety recall and it will be repaired for free. in the mean time unsrew the light bulbs so they dont melt down your liner...
I had noticed that the food on the top shelf of my LG refrigerator one morning was warm and the light was extremely hot. So hot that the light socket was charred, the fixture was melted and it was starting to melt the plastic ceiling inside the refrigerator. I needed hot pads to get the light bulbs out because they weren't going off when the doors were closed. I called LG service department even though the refrigerator was about 3-1/2 years old. They told me there have been problems with that model with the light not turning off and sent a repairman to my home to repair and replace the light fixture and the mother board at no charge to me. If I had not been home at the time or noticed the problem before it had gotten worse, I believe this could have easily caused a fire and should have been a recall if they knew about this dangerous problem!!
Same problem with same solution, but standard bulbs still get too hot. I replaced with $7 LED bulbs from Walmart. Work great, stay cool. Turns out LEDs perform better when cold. This would have been cheaper, better than LG's repair to start with.
