When i try to run power point from toshiba satellite pro (to sony projector) I get frequency out of range. IT geek man has had it working in ffice by switching projector on first then lap top, but I cant get it to work in the lecture room. I have tried switching on in order and pressing Fn and F3 and F5 - nothing. Sometimes, the frequency message changes to select input A (which I have already of course). Any ideas? Thanks!!

Are you using vga out on notebook ?
are you using vga in on projector ?
Turn on projector
hold down function key on notebook when turned on - FN button and press F5 - cycle through each mode by releasing f5 and pressing F5 again till you get CRT or CRT + LCD (while keeping FN pressed )
on data projector input source should be computer or vga

SOURCE: LCD screen is blank when lap top is on

I would suggest ensuring it's not video chipset. You have a VGA (monitor) conenctor on the back of that, plug in a regular computer moniter and see if it works. If it boots on the monitor you know it's a display problem(hinge, ribbon cable), if it still doesn't boot, it's a hardware problem(video card, main board). Let me know what happens, try cleaning the hing with rubbing alchol & a q-tip Good luck Hope this Helps!

SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite Touchpad not working

Restore the defaults in the BIOS to begin with, this will make sure its not a setting in there that is disabling the mousepad.

Then in windows see if the touchpad is working. If not then take the keyboard out with the power turned off.

When you take the keyboard out you will see the ribbon cable that comes from underneath the touchpad. disconnect it from the motherboard and reseat it firmly back in. Then turn back on the motherboard and see if the mousepad works. If it still doesn't then try the shortcut key to enable it.

If it does't enable then that means its either going to be a mousepad problem where you would have to replace the top cover assembly or a motherboard problem cause it could be where the voltage required to run that mousepad is missing.

"Frequency is out of range"

Most likely your PC or laptop is currently set to a display resolution that is too high for the projector or is one that it cannot handle. Try setting your computer display to 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 and see if you can get the projector to work. If it does, then you can figure out the maximum display resolution you can use. Also consult your projector documentation for supported resolution modes.

My scanner is locked on hypersearch. How do I get

Answer: Hypersearch can only be turned on and off through a limit or direct search. To turn it off, you should do the following: Through Limit Search:
  1. Press PROG, then LIMIT (SRC). Lo and 29.000 MHz appear. 29.000 MHz is the low end of the scanner's range.
  2. Enter the frequency that is the lower limit of the range you want to search (including the decimal point), then press E (SVC).
  3. Press LIMIT (SRC). Hi and 1300.00 MHz appear. 1300.000 MHz is the upper limit of the scanner's range.
  4. Enter the frequency that is the upper limit of the range you want to search (including the decimal point), then press E (SVC) again.
  5. Press \/ to search from the upper to the lower limit or /\ to search from the lower to the upper limit.
  6. While the scanner is searching or is on a transmission, press H/S.
  7. HYPER should disappear from the display.
Through Direct Search:
  1. Press MAN.
  2. Enter the frequency you want to start from using the number keys. (Press . to enter a decimal point). NOTE: To start the search from a frequency already stored in one of your scanner's channels, press MAN or PROG. Then use the number keys to enter the channel number and then press MAN or PROG again. If you enter an invalid frequency, the scanner displays Error. Press MON/CLR (.).
  3. Press \/ to search downward or /\ to search upward from the selected frequency. -d-, SEARCH, and either \/ or /\ appear.
