if bios is passworded you will have to enter bios at start up nomal keys are f1 or f2.if hard drive password mean enter password at start screen you may have to remove hard drive and plug into pc as backup drive backup what you need then format drive put back in laptop and install windows

When I lost my Toshiba Windows 8 login password , I got Windows Password Recovery Tool Ultimate to help me remove password quickly!

You can put a Power On Password of your Toshiba, this will prevent unauthorized access to youe laptop. If you forget this password then you will have problems unlocking your Toshiba.
The Power on Password is configured in the BIOS under sercuity settings.
You can also put a password on the hard drive and if your Toshiba is stolen and they remove the hard drive out of your Toshiba into another laptop they cannot get access to the data on your hard drive.
NOTE if you forget the hard disk password you will not be able to access your hard disk.

Chris Hingee is absolutely correct. Even if you reset the laptop bios password, you will not be able to reset the hard drive bios password. That old hard drive is your new paper weight after you purchase a new hard drive.

Step 2 -Burn your Windows Password Reset CD:
To burn your CD, you'll need a blank CD-R and the .ISO file of Windows Password Reset.

The hard drive stores the operating system for this machine so you would have to have the copier programming to reload after you changed the hard drive and I am not certain that the programming would even support a larger drive. Default code is 123456 Turn off copier, press 0 and 8 and hold down while turning copier on. enter 263, start, enter new code press enter. Turn off and on

Hard drive passwords are embedded in the firmware of the drive itself. You need to try to find out what the password was.
