I've got a Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 Washer Dryer with a problem drying. After the spin everything is as dry as you'd expect, but when I then try drying it seems to get wetter.... in fact it comes out steaming !! so it's still getting hot & therefore the heating/drying elements are ok. I've checked/cleaned the outlet pipes/hoses so think they're ok. Could it be the waste water pump ? Any easy way to check before I replace ? It can only be a temporary issue as it seems to drain ok during the wash cycle.
Hi, I think the problem you have is with the cold water inlet valve? When your machine dries it uses a small amount of water at high pressure through a restricter fitted in the water inlet valve. These break down letting in to much water which cannot evaporate quick enough for it to pump out causing the washing to become wetter than after the wash/spin cycle. The only way of solving this is to replace th tree way water inlet valve. But make sure that the pump is working ok first and that there is nothing in the sump hose trap which is located underneath the washing machine out the bottom of the tub.
Good luck.................
Glad you found something? If the item you found in the waste hose is the same size as the waste hose it could of been casuing a gate like effect in the hose stopping the water from emptying quick enough. Give it a go now see what happens. The restricter is roughly the size of a large pea. And it would not get washed into the machine it would only stay in the inlet hose!

thx. forgot to say that there were remains of what looked like some sort of plastic washer/seal stuck in the outlet pipe... about 3 ins. diameter. Assumed it was out of someones pocket but may have actually been part of the machine. Does such a seal normally reside in the vicinity of the 3way water inlet valve & would the absence of such a seal cause the excessive water coming in during drying ?
