Unplugged for 24 hours and plugged back in and it did fine for about a month. Now fridge is not cooling again.
You could have a defrost problem,a bad damper, bad computer board.first thing, open the freezer door,do you hear the fan blowing in there?you should,if not the evap fan motor is bad,if it's blowing touch the back inside wall of the freezer to see if any frost or like snow is on it,from the bottom up in the freezer remove the second bin of food and touch the back inside wall with your hand,if it has frost or snow you have a defrost problem, bad defrost thermostat, heater, sensor or board,if there isn't anything on the wall then you have a bad damper, all that happens is the evaporator coil in the freezer gets cold, then the evaporator fan in the freezer blows the cold air over into the fridge section, you have a damper in your machine that opens and closes when it's cold enough or when it needs to get colder, the door on the damper isn't opening to let the cold air in when it calls for cold air.if you can write back and let me know what you find and hopefully we can get it fixed.

is you freezer freezing if yes is your evaporator motor in the frezeer running.
if yes then it might be you damper assy that is not opening but on GE'S most of the times that run call with that problem the evap motor is not running does your frige have a computer at the back if you do then you have to trouble soot that computer or call a tech or just repl that board and if it doesn't work just return it

it sounds like the refrigerator evap is frozen up causing the compartment to get too hot. shut the unit off and let it thaw out. then take the screws out of the cover to check the stryrofoam on the back side of the cover to see if theres broken spots on it causing the air to bypass the evap causing it to freeze. Theres two screws behind the light cover and two at the very bottom of the cover and two behind the decorative plugs about 1/2 way

Generaly the control board controls everything sometimes you have a bad thermister GE has a help line I beleive it costs 20.00 bucks but you will need a meter and know how to use it and they willl talk you thru the repair .

The overload/relay is probably bad .This is the part plugged onto the compressor , with 2 or 3 wires plugged onto it . You can easily replace this part . Be sure to have your model number when ordering .

one more thing,if you do remove the back inside wall of the freezer look at the top of the coil, you'll see the thermostat and you should see a white sensor, look at the sensor it looks like a white bullet,if where the wires connect to it has a black ring around it you have to change the sensor out.the new sensor is all white, part number wr55x10025.also here's a copy of your computer board or mother board part number wr55x10942

sorry that's a copy of your board,if you look at j9 and j11 you can jump out your board and turn the defrost on,if the heater comes on then change out the board and sensor.i unplug the machine, pull off the gray plug that goes to those pins,i get two wires, stick one end into the j9 and then get the other wire and stick it into the j11,then with another wire with alligator clips on it clip the wires onto the board pins j9 and j11,plug the machine back in,this way the compressor doesn't start up,also sometimes you can look at the thermostat,if the top of it is popped up you know it's bad just by looking at it,water somehow gets into the t-stat and it pops one side of the top up.hope this info helps you out.
